This 2-bedroom cabin is perfect for your escape to the great North Woods. Nestled in a tranquil setting on 10 private acres, our fabulous property offers a cozy yet modern retreat for guests. You'll have easy access to hiking, biking, ATV, and snowmobile trails throughout the State Forest and the Superior National Forest surrounding the cabin, including 700 acres of public land directly across the street to the north.

Inside, the cabin boasts a freshly remodeled setting. As you enter, you'll find a spacious open area that includes a fully equipped kitchen, allowing you to prepare your own meals. The dining table seats six, and the comfortable living room, complete with a Smart TV, provides a perfect spot to relax after a day of outdoor adventures. The cabin has two bedrooms with comfortable beds for a restful night’s sleep—one queen bed, two full beds, and an additional queen pull-out bed in the living room. With amenities like a washer and dryer, grill, firepit, and high-speed internet, you'll have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Centrally located between Pelican, Side Lake, and Lake Vermilion—all less than a 30-minute drive—you'll have easy access to numerous beaches and public boat launches. Side Lake features a giant sandy beach area perfect for family fun, while Lake Vermilion, just 20 minutes away, makes this cabin a budget-friendly option for fishermen who don’t need to stay right by the water but do need ample parking for their trailers and boats.

Our up north stay

It’s a good home base for side by siding and visiting our family in that area. Very nice, new and clean place to stay. There is a very good place near by call South Switch for food and beverages. Huge portions and good.

Fun family celebration

Beautiful property and ideal for our family trip to wine country. Great location for wine tasting and a short ride to Armstrong Woods to see the impressive Redwoods. Close to good restaurants and nice little towns.

Great get away

We had a great time staying at the castle. Michael was a gracious host with lots of great ideas to share of what to do and places to go in the area. The space had everything we needed, the kitchen is beautiful and a great place to cook in after a day of wine tasting.

Owners were very nice and provided great recommendations on where to go. The house was so comfortable and peaceful, loved the hot tub! Softest sheets and super comfortable beds. The rec room was just so much fun. Can't wait to go back!!

25th anniversary at the Castle

What a charming place. Loved the area and the proximity to so many things to do. Michael gave some amazing recommendations on where to go and what restaurants were his favourites. We came down for our 25th with our two kids and two other dear friends. Would come back again.

Relaxing Sebastopol vacation

The Castle House has something for everyone- fish ponds, hidden garden treasures and a tunnel for the kids to explore, a game room with a very unique history- perfect for entertaining friends, and my favorite- a lovely outdoor deck surrounded by redwoods where we ate most of our meals. The best place for a family vacation!

Great Location

Enjoyed our combined Birthday and Anniversary celebrations in such a charming setting. Michael and Kristin were very accommodating and understanding with the adjustments to our stay. So much to see and do in Wine Country and the coast just 30 min. away. The Castle House is a perfect location!

We had the best time staying here at the castle. The location was perfect too to go to many wineries

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. The location was perfect to drive to many different wineries and restaurants. Plus, we stayed in one night and played games and made tacos. It was by far the best vacation ever! Michael was a great host too, he gave us suggestions of places to go and things to see. We just enjoyed our stay here at the castle.

Fantastic, fun rental house

We had a wonderful stay in the "castle house". Michael was so easy to work with and the house was just perfect for our wine country vacation. The main house is beautiful and the extra bar room gave us a fun, relaxing place to wind down. I would highly recommend this house to anyone traveling to Sonoma wine country!

We traveled from the south east to see the redwoods and were not disappointed. We enjoyed seafood on the coast and walks with the trees. Thanks to Michael for recommending the coast drive and Armstrong state park!!! The house exceeded our expectations and was convenient to all our traveling.

Serene location in the woods

While the layout of the house was overly unique, our group found the location was great. The bed rooms were adequate for our needs and the common spaces more than made our time together great fun. The hot tub and pool table were great entertainment. Kitchen was great for our simple dining pleasure.
