"No lounge, no bar it was essentially a ‘Blackpool’ B&B. Also it was further out of town than I thought. Equally, the only restaurant on site was a faux hamburger joint. I stay at IBIS hotels often, and IBIS Ouisterham regularly. Coutances was the worst ever."

"Had an absolutely amazing time. The room was clean and the shower was good. plenty of instant hot water. The staff were really friendly and in the heatwave our rooms were nice and cool. If you're looking for room service it is not that kind of establishment but for clean, simple, natural fun on the beach, this was truly wonderful. thank you!"

The whole building was full or character and very stylishly decorated to a high level with a selection of D-day memorabilia and information in the dining room. There was a good breakfast included of Croissant/Pain au Chocolate/Pain au Raisin and bread, preserves and cheese together with hot drinks and juice. "Just pulling out La Ferme des Mares, a charming establishment that provides everything except showers and an apology or discount for providing showers. Should you decide to visit, my advice is that you check the hot water before accepting the keys so that you don't have the unhappy experience of discovering an ice cold shower upon waking the next morning. And no one at the reception to assist you until 8:30 AM when you need to check out."

The house was tastefully decorated, we personally thought there could have been a few more kitchen items eg:- baking sheets for oven, bbq tools, grate for grill pan. Although the garden looks large the cottage is in the grounds of a larger house and unfortunately my French is not great but i was assuming the garden just surrounding the cottage was for our use and having a dog, the garden area was not enclosed...

"We had a great week staying in this lovely cottage. The children especially loved the big garden. The house was very clean and peaceful . We found lots of lovely walks and places to visit in the area. The only issue we had is that the VRBO listing suggests the house has a hot tub, which it doesn't but this seems to be a problem with the VRBO site and is not the owners fault, of course the children were a bit disappointed!"
