Absolutely NO issues with this property. Clean, quiet and very peaceful rural setting. Only better, would have been a bathroom on the same floor as bedroom- But that takes nothing away from this property.

If you are looking for a nice relaxing place with a country setting the yellow house is the place for you. We enjoyed a three night stay and made friends with the highland cow Hamish and his small goat friend Spot. The host, Rachel communicated very well and provided very detailed directions. Overall great stay!

We loved our little yellow house on the farm! Perfect for our weekend getaway. Bedrooms are all upstairs and everything else is downstairs. They’ve done a great job making you feel right at home from check-in to check-out! We are already looking to come back in the Fall!

An unforgettable farm stay! Maplecroft Farm is a beautiful property nestled in the Pennsylvania countryside. The scenery is stunning, and waking up to the views of the dairy cows was exactly the peaceful escape from the city we were looking for. The farm is impeccably maintained, and the hosts are fantastic. If you want to experience the charm of PA farm life, this is the place to be!

The house was very clean and my family loved the layout. An additional fan or air movement for upstairs during hot months would be good. It was quite warm, but manageable. For those who need to be connected, the house has WiFi but when off of the property we did not have cell service for two different providers. Not a big deal but plan accordingly. Overall I’d stay here again and would recommend to others.

The yellow house was perfect. Peaceful, quiet, the house was well stocked with every thing you need and Rachel the host had milk and cookies waiting for us. It was nice to hear the rooster in the morning and see deer running in the fields. If ever back in Altoona this will be our go to.

We had a fun visit at the Yellow House on the farm while in the area. It was lovely, quiet and peaceful. Mornings on the porch watching turkeys, roosters and deer was something you just can't do at home. Rachel was a terrific host. Very helpful and accommodating. The milk and cookies were a nice touch. We hope to stay there again and have already recommended this place to friends who will be traveling through.

Little Gem

Many positives to this rural home. Privacy, nature, super clean, easy to find & keyless check in. Cookies & milk a plus. Only downside for me is that bedrooms and the bath weren't on the same floor. (I've got a bad knee). Otherwise it looks just like the pictures. If you're looking for rural and peace and quiet, this is the place. Enjoyed my stay.

Charming, updated piece of rural heaven

The Yellow House is adorable, perfectly appointed, and clean and tidy. We loved it! From the fresh milk and cookies waiting for us on arrival to the easy and friendly communication with Rachel, the owner and manager, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. The beds are comfy, and little details are great- like bedside lights that turn on with just a tap and power outlets right in the night tables. At the end of a long day, we all appreciated the couch and loveseat where all of the seats reclined!

Quick get-away

My husband and I were looking for a place to visit within a couple hours drive to an area we haven't explored yet. Deciding upon visiting DelGrosso's Amusement Park we looked for a VRBO listing within close proximity. We are so glad we discovered The Yellow House. Rachel's communication was outstanding...very clear instructions, directions, and photos made it easy to find and a welcome environment upon our arrival. The Yellow House is adorable and comfortable. The little touch such as cookies and milk was greatly appreciated. If we venture to the area again, The Yellow House would be our first choice.

Holiday Trip

Decided to take the family back to Central Pennsylvania for a New Year’s holiday trip. I needed a property that would be big enough to comfortably house 5 people, and this property was the ideal size from looking at the listing. Upon arrival we immediately were impressed with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the house. Rachel took great care to decorate the house and make it feel at home. Since it was the holiday season, the house was decorated with holiday decorations, and she even had milk and cookies waiting! The family loved the all of the canvas art of the cows also.The setting of the house was also a plus for my family. Although I’m originally from the area and used to a rural environment, my family has been born and raised in Atlanta…definitely not rural. My wife and daughters loved seeing the chickens, ducks, and cows. The house was easy for me to find. The entrance to the farm is located at the intersection with stop signs at all directions and has pillars at the entrance with a sign with the name of the farm on it. From there, Rachel provided specific directions to the house. Pretty simple. Communication with Rachel was great. She was quick to respond and directions were precise and clear. I’ve been renting vacation rentals in the Central Pennsylvania area for years, and this property has been the first to provide an abundant amount of space for my family. Additionally, the house is clean and modernly updated. I highly recommend the Yellow House!

We booked to cone to Altoona to see the Big Boy and needed dog friendly, didn't expect to be greeted by an amazingly friendly Scotish Highland cow named Hamish and an extremely comfortable yellow house! Definitely recommend!

The Yellow House was a phenomenal stay for my husband, dogs and I. The hosts maintain a clean, comfortable home that is thoughtfully set up to accommodate their guests. We arrived to a kitchen stocked with all the basics and fresh milk and cookies. The surrounding area is beautiful and the farm animals are friendly. We especially enjoyed being greeted by Hamish, the highland cow, and all of his friends. We would recommend this to anyone!
