Perfect house and location along the river
The River House was perfect for our weekend trip to the Grand Rapids area! The property is beautiful! The landscaping- lawn, flowering trees, and shrubs- were gorgeous in spring (early May). It as so nice sitting along the river enjoying the day. The house is close to the road, but the traffic is very light and it never bothered us at all- even when sleeping with the windows open toward the road. The house is quaint, and it immediately felt like home. The interior is so inviting and relaxing with the couch and window facing the river. I hope we are able to return! We had no issues with the reservation process. The owners provided the perfect amount of information at just the right times. It was about a 16 minute drive into Calvin University. Any birdwatchers really need to visit Stagecoach Park in Middleville and walk south on the bike trail. Others would enjoy the walk, too, but the birds were great! Thank you Linda and Wally!!

Amazing little cabin, definitely plan to come back!
I came with a small group of girls for a bachelorette party and we had such an amazing time! We hope to be able to do a girls trip at least once a year and would love to revisit this cabin again in the future! We didn't need to communicate much with the host, but when we did they were extremely accommodating. They allowed us to switch our booking date to a week later after we found out the original weekend wouldn't have worked, and they also allowed us to check out a couple hours late which we really appreciated! Thank you for hosting us and allowing us into your house 😁😁

The River House of Alaska is a beautiful piece of property; a slice of heaven, actually! It is peaceful with an amazing view of the river. The house has a lot of charm and well maintained for the age. My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed for 2 nights. We all enjoyed a bonfire each night. My husband was up at 4am fishing from the amazing pier on the property. He was having so much fun catching fish. We will come back again for sure!
