"Built as one of the great railway hotels in 1925, the Esplanade still has a grand feel about it. For what you pay (not much compared to 5 star hotels in Europe) it is a wonderful place. Bar is friendly and the cocktails are good with lots of local options. Had breakfast and it was good with a selection of local items. Bit of a walk (15 minutes) to the old part of town but Zagreb is a small place and easy to walk around. I enjoyed walking through the parks to get to the more interesting areas of town. A good value if you want a classic style of old school grand hotel. "
