Quiet Lakefront Cabin with Private Fire Pit, Beach and Dock

  • **Please note that Secord Lake has its water level reduced so that the State of Michigan can fix Secord Dam. By renting this cabin, you are doing so knowing that the water level near this rental does not currently allow for boating or swimming. This note will be removed when the water level returns to normal in 2026.**

    This two-bedroom lakeside cabin is the perfect vacation getaway for friends, a couple, or a family. Sitting on 1.38 acres of Pure Michigan paradise, this home offers peace and relaxation to guests along with many modern day amenities.

    Amenities in this cabin include central heating, a fully equipped kitchen, a flat screen TV and DVD player, and a washer and dryer. This is a remote vacation home. There is no Wi-Fi or cable television available.

    The master bedroom has a queen-sized bed that sleeps two and the second bedroom has a bunk bed that sleeps two. The top bunk has a twin-sized mattress and the bottom bunk has a full-sized mattress. A pull-out couch in the main living area, where the TV is located, also sleeps two.

    Are you looking for memorable nights with friends or family? Make use of our large fire pit overlooking the water. This home also offers a private dock for swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and a beautiful sandy beach overlooking Secord Lake.

    Downtown West Branch, where you can shop, bar hop, grab a bite to eat or catch a movie, is just 15 minutes away by car. The area also offers nearby access to hundreds of acres of state land for hiking, nature study, ATV adventures, snowmobiling, camping, hunting, fishing, and much more.

    Book now and you can enjoy this northern Michigan cabin for less than the cost of a boring hotel. This vacation home is roughly 2.5 hours north of Detroit, just 20 minutes east of I-75.

    Rates shown are base rents that include all utilities. Additional fees include departure cleaning fees, sales tax and pet fees (if applicable). This vacation home is pet friendly! A $200 refundable pet deposit and $75 non-refundable pet fee are charged per reservation.

Family reunion at the lake

Traveled from SC over the 4th for a family reunion/birthdays at a near by lake. The location was perfect for us. Plenty of room, very quiet, very clean and has all the creature comfort essentials. It would be an excellent base camp for deer hunters. We got to see family and get some much needed down time. I would definitely stay here again.

Norther Michigan nature getaway

Loved the forested surroundings and the smell of the abundant pines. Main roads in are hard gravel, but well kept. We probably saw over 100 deer and some turkeys on the roads around Secord Lake. A well maintained house with all the ammenities one needs. And the owner was quite helpful for us. Really enjoyed this stay.

We had a great time at the cottage. It was quite and very peaceful. We needed it after a stressful year. Even without the lake it was great. Usually we drive around for hiking and fishing. This time we enjoyed staying at the cabin more. The cabin was very clean and spacious. Definitely coming back.

End of summer getaway

This is the second time we've stayed at this cabin and this time waa even better than the first time we stayed there. I'll say we've stayed at a few different places through the years and this is one of the best places we've stayed at. We can't wait until next year to come around so we can stay there again. The place has everything you could ask for stocked in it. The bedding is super clean and comfortable. If you are looking for a nice getaway I would highly recommend it.

Peaceful Getaway

The property was very quiet and private and the cabin stocked with many essentials we could use. Although the water level was low, the view was still very pretty and I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a weekend to unplug and relax. Bobby was a great communicator as well, making sure that everything was up to our standards and answered any questions we had.

Secluded and quiet

House was set in wooded area and nicely secluded. Nice fire pit and deck furniture allowed us a couple dinners outside. Quiet neighbors and house was clean. Had the amenities listed in description. Communication with property manager was excellent. If looking to fish you will need to choose another property as the Secord dam is not yet fixed and lake bed was all grass and weeds.

Amazing!

The property was beautiful! The dogs had a great time and me and my husband relaxed and watched DVDs. Bond fires were nice and the town was so cute! Not a whole lot to do around there but we just stayed inside and watched movies. We liked it was in the woods but town just did not have alot of activities for us to do since my husband is on weight bearing restriction but that didnt ruin anything! I loved that we were able to bring my dogs it made me less stressed having to hire a sitter!

Exceptional Getaway!

Our stay was incredible comfortable and the listing was spot-on. The property is situated on a gorgeous spot by a lake and is surrounded by large, gorgeous trees, plenty of greenery and the sounds of the wildlife made the stay (especially the mornings) even better. There is even a washer and dryer onsite that comes in very handy, especially if you take the time to explore the local parks and preserves. The property manager is especially wonderful! He made sure an item i left behind got mailed back to me, which I'm so grateful for! Do not hesitate to book this property, you will not be disappointed!

The ad list said you could not use the lake for boating. The owner called and said the water level is low so no fishing or swimming. I asked if we could wade in the lake and he said yes. Well glad I did NOT buy water shoes! Because there was NO water! NONE! ZERO!!!!! The house is very clean. The furniture in living was pretty old and you can feel the frame under your legs. The bed’s horrible! Our backs hurt so bad! The one with the bunk had springs popping! On a good note it was very quiet.
