My husband and I arrived at this resort at 3 pm on Sunday, Oct 8, 2023. The place is out of the way. Upon checking in, the reception lady was telling us that the stay was without breakfast. We explained to her and her colleague sitting next to her (he seemed to be the manager on duty) that I was an Expedia VIP Gold member and showed them the booking confirmation from Expedia that also stated my membership status and its benefits. I told them that we would at least get the benefit of free breakfast. Unfortunately, they refused to honour it. I asked them to contact Expedia, again they refused and asked me to call Expedia by myself. Being foreigners, we told them that we did not have access to make an international call and we were sure that being listed under Expedia platform, they should be able to make calls to Expedia when needed. So, we told them that we would just sit in the reception area until the matter was resolved to which they said rudely “Go ahead.” We sat there waiting for them to do something to solve the matter; unfortunately, they did not care at all. When the new shift person came in, we talked to him asking for his help, he refused, too. They insisted that they could only provide a bottle of champagne. After a long wait, they finally lent me their phone. While on the phone with Expedia, the self-declared manager on duty yelled at me asking to return the phone. It took three good hours to check in. A horrible treatment by a hotel, let alone a five-star one.
