The location was excellent, right next to the Uncle Sam Boat dock, which made it incredibly convenient for exploring the area. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and cooperative throughout our stay. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable

Friendly and efficient staff at checking. The room was right on the River, with great views of the harbor, ship and boat activity. The room itself was immaculate, beds and linens comfortable, and the bathroom looked newly renovated. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Amazing water and castle views. So pretty. Rooms are basic, but very clean and comfortable. Front desk staff could not have been more welcoming. Pool is clean, and overlooks water. Hotel works with tour boats, so ask about discounts on wonderful two-hour two-nation boat tour. At very least, a visit to Boldt Castle is a must.

Our room had a balcony with a beautiful view of the St Lawrence River. The room was clean and serviced daily. The Blu Anchor Bar and Grill was right across the street and had great food. There were also nice shops up and down the road next to the resort. And also, Uncle Sam’s Boat Tours were right next to the Resort. It was a perfect place to stay! Last but not least, Canada was minutes away!!

A second great stay. There is just no view like it. Facing the river and having the ships pass in front and seeing the lights of the other shore and the castle is just magical. I tried the pool this time and it was nice. Coffee maker in room as well as brewed coffee in lobby was helpful. Food nearby was good. I recommend this hotel.

We had a great time revisiting the Alexandria Bay area. I highly recommend staying at Capt Thompson resort. The pool area is a nice place to hang out and visit with each other. We had a great meal at Bonnie Castle too. The resort is centrally located so within walking distance to the shops and boat tours. Enjoy!

A little bit of parking space anxiety, a slow draining sink(they might not have known of) and basic cable that leaves a bit to be desired, it does not take away from the breathtaking views, the clean rooms and the staff that was more friendly and courteous than most people that work for tips. I am very much looking forward to booking another stay here.
