Cozy Glamping Dome on the Greenbrier River
The Dome is a unique luxury geodesic glamping dome overlooking the beautiful Greenbrier River. Be immersed in nature while also having all of the amenities and conveniences of home. With a king size bed and a queen size pull out sofa, it is perfect for families or small groups. Enjoy the AC and heating and full bathroom inside the dome. The deck offers sights and sounds of the river and extends the living space outdoors. Just 15 minutes from Lewisburg and 30 minutes from the Greenbrier Resort, the dome is the ultimate riverside retreat.
Inside the 30 ft geodesic dome is 700 sq ft of open living space which includes:
KITCHENETTE: A modern kitchenette with full size fridge/freezer, toaster oven, microwave, plates/bowls/cups, cutting board and silverware & utensils. Glassware is provided for your cocktails and wine.
COFFEE/TEA/WATER: A drip coffee maker and electric kettle are provided. Clean, filtered water is at the kitchen tap and a light assortment of teas is provided. We also supply a french press and coffee grinder for those that travel with their beans.
LIVING AREA: The living area has a 22 ft bay window overlooking the river and pull out Queen size sofa bed.
BEDROOM: King size bed with soft 400-count sheets and four hypoallergenic pillows. Wardrobe is available for extra storage and hanging closet items.
BATHROOM: On demand hot water for relaxing showers, complimentary shampoo, conditioner, soap and hair dryer.
MEDIA/DATA: A sharp sounding Klipshe Bluetooth speaker is provided. Wifi is included. Floor outlets have built in USB chargers.
The Dome is located on The Riverstead, an organic family homestead. The homestead features vegetable gardens, fruit orchards, berries, cut flowers, honeybees and chickens. The property is located in a lush Greenbrier river valley with views of an old rock quarry and Muddy Creek Mountain.
There is always a chance to see wildlife such as deer, otters, fox, coyote, bald eagles, geese, mergansers, and cranes. In the warm months, you'll also see many people floating the river as Fort Spring to Alderson is one of the most popular river floats with small rapids and white water.
You will have full access to the dome, the deck and the grass area next to dome. There is private river access but please note that the path to the river is currently very rustic & rocky. Keep this in mind if you plan to access the river or bring a kayak or similar boat/float. Future updates to this area coming soon!
Keyless entry and private driveway allow you to access the property easily and at your convenience. We live on the property and are available if you need anything.
Other details to note: There are train tracks on the other side of the river. Trains run any time of the day and night and can be loud.
The dome is 100% wheel chair accessible with a ramp from the parking area to the deck and a ramp at the door. Please note that there is a curb on the shower.
Large groups, parties, and extra overnight guests who are not approved ahead of time will not be permitted.

This place was amazing and a great place to celebrate our 42nd anniversary. We typically are not the type to “camp” so the dome gave us the feel of being outside with all the amenities. The location on the Greenbrier River was so peaceful and we loved the serenity of the overall, picturesque setting. Nicole is a wonderful host with quick response. We highly recommend the dome if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway.Neal & Terri ChapmanBarboursville, WV
A perfect way to get away and relax. The globe tent is so clean and unique. Has heat and air. The view of the Greenbrier River is relaxing and beautiful from the deck. You won’t regret coming here for a night or two away from home.
We are completely impressed! Great experience! Perfect get away for our family . We loved exploring the town close by ,great coffee and bakery’s ! Enjoyed the River and all the local outdoor activities offered in the area . The Dome had everything we could possibly need an added bonus was getting to order fresh homemade goods that were there when we arrived . We definitely plan to visit and stay here again in the future .
This property is clean, cozy and has everything anyone needs to relax and enjoy the uniqueness of the Dome and the beauty of the Greenbrier River. The train tracks across the river were a reminder of our childhood in VA leaving near train tracks and we loved it!! Not overwhelming at all and add to the stay.
The Dome was a wonderful place to stay! The owner was very responsive. Everything we could possibly need was there. And sitting on the deck and listening to river was so very peaceful. We loved our stay!
Nicole was a wonderful host! We checked in late, but she had a damn perfectly set up for us, even taking the time to set the thermostat to our preferred sleeping temps.
