"They catered to the Chinese people. The lodge was ok. The rooms were ok. Not well maintained. Turned electric off most of the time. Location was fabulous. I have been to Kenya many times and this is the nicest location I've encountered. It is on the Mara river. Many hippos monkeys baboons and crocks. It is a one hour drive to Masai Mara but the conservative was nice for safari. The safari vehicles are not very well maintained and we broke down or had a flat tire every day. "Lorian is a cosy small camp with very good staff. Food was good and location excellent...close to the air strip and fairly close to possible sightings. The Lorian team made the trip memorable with their superb and always helpful attitude. Will go back on next trip and happy to recommend."

"The Fairmont Mara Safari Club was an unforgettable experience, enhancing our 10th wedding anniversary. Hannah Gitau and Miriam Akhonya’s communication and attention to detail, along with the staff’s care, made our stay smooth. Charles and Eddie’s orientation was excellent. Our room had a welcome message from Jackson and team, who kept it stocked and clean. We had a stunning view of hippos from our room. Staff recognized us by name in the lobby, and David at the bar knew our drink orders. Rose, our server, was attentive, and other staff like Shiko, Kilonzo, and James contributed to our experience. Game drives with Alfred and Steve were highlights, spotting the Big Five and exceeding expectations. On our last day, Lamson and Steve made the drives exciting. William, Mary, Winny, and others made us feel like family. We cherished the boma dinners and surprise celebrations. We hope the staff are recognized for their work and interns can join the team. "After spending over 30 hours researching camps in Kenya, choosing Masa Major Camp was one of the best travel decisions I’ve ever made. It didn’t just live up to the glowing reviews—it far exceeded them. From the moment I arrived, the experience felt more like joining a warm, welcoming family than simply staying at a lodge. The staff were incredible—attentive, genuinely kind, and made me feel at home every single day. The game drives were absolutely unforgettable. Our guide seemed to know exactly where to be at the right time, and we saw breathtaking wildlife moments I’ll never forget. Having breakfasts and lunches out in the bush—surrounded by stunning scenery and wildlife—made the experience even more magical. And the food back at camp? Outstanding. Easily on par with (or better than) any five-star restaurant I’ve been to. Every meal felt special, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. "We just completed our stay at Mara Intrepid camp. It was an unforgettable experience! Great location right on the Talek River. Excellent food with lots of options (plus a full bar), and the staff really go out of their way to ensure the comfort of each and every guest. The tents have lots of space and all the comforts we are used to at home. If you’re booking a safari game drive with them, do insist on a Toyota Land Cruiser over the Land Rover."

"This is a camp so amenities are pretty basic. That is very understandable. If you’re a light sleeper, you might not find the area conducive for you as hippos could get loud at night. My biggest issue with this camp is that by default they would clean the tent and rearrange your stuff. I get that cleaning is essential but as someone who functions in a very specific manner, I’d hate to find out that my things have been rearranged. I talked to the camp manager about this and he wasn’t apologetic at all. He just said there’s nothing he could do. Very rude!"
