8/10 Good
"We had a very pleasant two-night stay at Basqal Resort. The staff were exceptionally hospitable, friendly, and always willing to help, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. The hotel’s spa is excellent, with high-quality facilities and professional, attentive staff. The gym and swimming pool are also fantastic, offering stunning views that make the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast exceeded our expectations. The selection was incredibly generous, with a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was genuinely delicious. The only improvement I would suggest is regarding the smoking policy in the game room. The room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke, and it was noticeable even in the lobby. In line with local legislation, smoking should not be permitted in enclosed public spaces. While I understand that some restaurants in Azerbaijan may still allow indoor smoking, it was disappointing to see this in a luxury five-star hotel. A smoke-free indoor environment would better reflect the high standards that the resort aims to provide. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would gladly recommend Basqal Resort for its outstanding service, excellent facilities, and relaxing atmosphere."

What is the best area to stay in Agsu?
The best area to stay in Agsu is generally within the town centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the main road network.Agsu is a smaller town, so its 'centre' isn't as defined as a large city, but the area around Heydar Aliyev Avenue and the adjacent streets forms the primary hub. Here, you'll find local shops, eateries, and administrative buildings. Staying in this central zone means you're well-placed for anything you might need during your visit. For travellers interested in local culture and a comfortable base for exploring the surrounding region, staying near the town's central mosque or the Agsu Archaeological Centre is ideal.
When is the best time to go to Agsu?
The best time to visit Agsu is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months.During these periods, the weather is pleasantly mild, making it ideal for exploring the region's historical sites and natural beauty. Spring brings blooming wildflowers and lush green landscapes, while autumn offers comfortable temperatures and the beauty of changing foliage in the surrounding hills. Both seasons avoid the intense heat of summer and the colder, sometimes snowy, conditions of winter. For those interested in outdoor activities like hiking or visiting vineyards, these months provide the most comfortable conditions.
