Kostas and Maria were the kindest hosts/owners. They welcomed us with a welcome drink and treat, showed us where to go and what to see, and sang a lovely song in the evening with him playing the accordion and both harmonizing. Our room had a gorgeous view of one side of the many harbors! Would go back and stay again!

We loved the warm welcome from the owners and effort they make to personally provide local information. Our apartment was of a good size, spotlessly clean and with a great sea view from the balcony. Location was only a few minutes walk to restaurants. We would stay again if in the town.

My stay was very good. The top floor corner suite had a great view of the marina and of the bay. The location allowed ready access to all amenities and things to see. The hosts were very accommodating and made the stay feel like a home. The glass of wine and snacks when I arrived was very welcome after the drive. The bed in the room was excellent. I had the best sleeps since I arrived on Crete. Knock on their door, take a look. You won't be disappointed.

I booked a studio room with sea ( harbour view ) as a soo traveller for 5 nights. The owners / hosts are AMAZING. Their hospitality was incredible. They put on a Monday night music night in the foyer … truely unforgettable. They are so generous with their local knowledge and making you feel at ease. I truely felt at home. Agios Nicholas is a a fantastic base from which to explore the eastern half of Crete, and the two main shopping streets and the amazing sea lake right in the centre of town were incredible. I would highly recommend staying at Mantraki. Although it’s not a resort with a pool ( which you will need to travel 20 minutes out of town for ) I puts you right on the heart of the old town and downtown harbour. Everything is only a 5-10 minute walk - including 2-3 beaches. I can’t praise the owners of Mantraki enough. All the best

Amazing stay hosted by great human beings!

Such a typical and charming place. The warm welcome, the kindness of the owners, the local charm, the convenient location... this place has a long story and a beautiful spirit. The apt is big with a balcony view. Also I forgot my glasses and they nicely offered to ship it back to the USA as a gift, before I even asked the favor.

Comfortable hotel with great hospitality

The apartment was spacious with a nicely stocked kitchen and balcony. We managed to park in the lot at the hotel. The hotel itself was located very near a beach and within 10 min stroll to town. However what really made Mantraki a wonderful stay for us was the hospitality of the owners and staff. Costa and Maria shared their love of music with us and Julita, Leontine and others went above and beyond with recommendations and kindness. Do not hesitate to stay here!

Une surprise et des souvenirs

Accès facilité grâce au GPS. Quartier calme. Parking gratuit dans la rue. Studio d’environ 40 m2, au deuxième étage avec ascenseur, comprenant un salon cuisine avec balcon, avec vue sur une petite église, une chambre séparée, douche/WC. Situé en centre-ville, à 100m du port, donc déplacements à pieds. Très bon accueil (et conseil pour visites et diner) de la part de Julita la réceptionniste. Couple de propriétaires charmants. Nous n'y avons séjourné que 2 nuits, du 23/06 au 25/06/18. Il n'y a pas de petit déjeuner, mais ce n'est pas un problème, un frigo, une bouilloire, un micro ondes et du matériel de cuisine est fourni. Connexion internet correcte. Le jour du départ, le propriétaire musicien nous a joué quelques airs d’accordéon. Que de souvenirs. Studio à recommander.

We chose a room with a verandah and a water view. The apartment was of a good size well equipped and presented. Owner and staff were terrific. Welcoming and provided useful information. A little difficult to find. Parking limited to a couple of hotel controlled places. Alternative is street parking.

Situé tout près du port de plaisance, proche, également, des artères commerçantes et du centre ville, cet hôtel nous a proposé un petit appartement comportant séjour avec coin cuisine, chambre et salle de bains. Situé au 4ème étage (avec ascenseur) l'appartement s'ouvre par une porte fenêtre et une fenêtre sur une terrasse assez vaste, équipée de sièges suspendus très confortables, d'une table et de fauteuils. De toutes les ouvertures une vue magnifique sur la mer et le port de plaisance. Dans la chambre un lit très large et des placards de taille convenable. Salle de bains correcte avec douche. Cuisine très équipée, rien ne manque du micro-onde à la cafetière électrique. Un séjour à recommander sans réserve.

A wonderfully warm welcome awaits you at Mantraki... from the moment you step over the threshold, the hosts are intent upon assuring you of a most friendly, kind, attentive and informative stay.., The location is also excellent; from the entrance to the appartment, in every direction there is a different avenue leading to the variety of activity Aghios Nikolaos has to offer the traveller. Clean, spacious rooms, with good kitchen and bathroom facilities, all in traditional style. I had a most relaxing short break and am already looking forward to returming! Thank you

Definitely would stay again!

Loved staying at Mantraki Hotel. It was nice to have an apartment style room rather than just a bed/bath. Spent time in the morning/evening on the balcony overlooking the harbor area. I didn't end up cooking anything so can't comment on that. The room was clean and the facilities well kept. Kostas and Maria have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. They are wonderful hosts at this family run place, offering helpful advice as if I were the only one they ever shared it with. I particularly enjoyed the evening conversation and when inspiration strikes, Kostas, a former musician, breaks out the accordion and he (and maybe Maria) will sing! I would definitely stay here again. The one hardship, which I find fairly common in Greece, was initially finding a parking place. The GPS takes you directly to the hotel, but parking is hit or miss. I didn't have much stuff, so the paid parking lot (€3) 2 blocks away was fine for me.
