The room is clean and the breakfast was sufficient with many choices. This hotel promotes a laundry room with one washer, one dryer, which is very nice and convenient. However this washer room is there more for the staff, and when I arrived both the washer and dryer were full of blankets, aprons, all unattended. When I asked the one front desk staff for a little help with the machine, at her convenience, this employee was quite short, rude. She slammed the washer door and told me loudly that I did not do anything correctly. I thanked her loudly and did my laundry in a very cluttered housekeeping room. This was a terrible example of offering good hospitality to a traveler. I don't think this service should be offered at all as I found it inconvenienced the staff on duty. Just take down the sign offering the laundry room service. On the other hand, the receptionist who checked us in was awesome. Parking also very convenient.

1. Mismatch between marketing and operations Photos are usually taken under ideal conditions (fully stocked buffet, low occupancy, premium setup). In reality: Lower food turnover. More basic presentation. Limited staff during peak hours. 2. Breakfast: the main pain point What you describe is typical: Low protein options → mostly carbs (bread, pastries, cereals). Limited or no hot items. Slow replenishment. This is driven by the Ibis model: Breakfast included but cost-optimized. In Italy, breakfast culture is lighter (espresso + pastry), which further lowers the baseline compared to international expectations. 3. Service Lean staffing → slower response times. In cities like Catania, service tends to be less structured than in major hubs like Milan or Rome. Focus is more on functionality than guest experience. 4. Location vs expectation This specific property: Is located in Acireale, not central Catania. Operates more as a transit/business hotel rather than a leisure-focused experience.

Struttura carina e moderna, in contesto apprezzabile e piacevole, tranne per la sporadica ma costante rumorosità (soprattutto serale/notturna) dovuta alle moto ad alta velocità sulla vicina strada ad alto scorrimento. Stanza ampia con parcheggio riservato in tariffa standard. Unico difetto della stanza è la presenza di un solo cuscino troppo basso, quasi inutile. Colazione varia e abbondante e piacevole giardino sul retro. Personale sempre cortese. Sebbene non paragonabile alle strutture di più alto livello, tornerei all’hotel, soprattutto per viaggi di lavoro come in questa occasione.

Purtroppo la nostra esperienza è stata deludente. Nonostante il check-in fosse previsto dalle ore 14:00, al nostro arrivo la camera non era ancora pronta. Abbiamo addirittura trovato la signora delle pulizie ancora all'interno, che ci ha chiesto di attendere perché, a quanto pare, non risultava che la camera fosse già stata assegnata a noi. Un evidente problema di organizzazione. Una volta entrati, il pavimento era completamente bagnato, la camera era molto umida e, come se non bastasse, era invasa dalle formiche. Da una struttura di questo livello ci si aspetta un'organizzazione più efficiente e standard di pulizia e manutenzione decisamente superiori. Spero che la direzione prenda provvedimenti per evitare che situazioni simili si ripetano.
