Ian's lodge proved to be super quaint in a quiet part of Kilchoan and up a slight hill, with a view of the water in the distance. Secluded surroundings making an evening on the porch ideal and private. Nice over hang making sit outs in the rain ideal and atmospheric. Very close to Kilchoan grocery store which also has a petrol station and with Kilchoan Hotel only a 5 minute walk away. So you have all the amenities on your doorstep. Great location for exploring the furthest part of Ardnamurchin peninsula and just over an hours drive to Acharacle and Strontian. Just make sure and bring your preferred condiments as we only noted salt and pepper. Equally bring your own cloths, tin foil, oil etc, as again there was only a half full bottle of washing up liquid and a few cleaning products in the lodge. The television is small but adequate and there is a DVD player with a small selection of DVD's but described by my husband as being more for the ladies. Kilchoan store is open till 5 but shuts between 1 and 2pm and closes at 5pm. Morag and David who own the store are wonderfully friendly and very helpful in sourcing anything you need but don't see on the shelves. Propery was very cosy with a great shower and bath in the bathroom. Nicely sized kitchen and appreciated the double bedroom on the ground floor due to my husband having knee problems. Would definately recommend this propery and have already been looking at dates for next year.
