Rockybrook Miller's cabin

This early 1800's miller's cabin has been lovingly restored and is ready for your relaxing getaway. Only 7 miles from Main Street Abingdon, this cozy retreat is perfectly located for family fun. Situated a few yards from the North Fork of the Holston River, you have easy access to fishing and Adventure Mendota, a local tubing outfitter. We are minutes from Bristol TN/VA and Bristol Motor Speedway. Hiking, biking, fishing and hunting are enjoyed by area residents. Local favorites include the Barter Theatre, the Martha Washington Inn, Heartwood, The Creeper Trail (including the Appalachian Trail), and a wonderful variety of local food fare. The Highlands Festival, Bristol Rhythm & Roots and many other cultural events make our area an excellent vacation destination.

The interior of our property is the original miller's cabin built in the 1820's. In the early 1900's, the cabin was expanded and a clapboard exterior added. Master bedroom and bathroom are on the main floor. ***Please note, that the two upstairs bedroom have extremely steep steps. This adds to the uniqueness of our cabin, but could be an issue for visitors with mobility issues.

A full kitchen will lend itself to meal preparation and entertainment. Microwave, coffee maker and all cookware are provided.

Character and Charm!!!

We had the most wonderful stay at Regina’s beautiful historic home. From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed — Regina had baked a cake and left a heartfelt note for us. The house is full of charm and character, with blooming plants and flowers in every direction. Every room told a story, and the peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect getaway. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already dreaming of coming back again. Thank you, Regina, for sharing your special home with us!

Such a Neat Place!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We were in the area for an annual family reunion and this place was perfect for us! The kids enjoyed the outdoors, all the inside games and just having "adventures." Everything we needed was right there. We didn't even leave 1 of the days we were there. The uniqueness of the cabin was just perfect for our curious kiddos. It felt almost like Little House on the Prairie with some modern touches of course! We could tell there was much thought and love put into this place. Regina is an exceptional host! We just appreciated every little detail. We'll definitely be back next year!!!
Loved the reuse of this sink!

We just could not stop talking about how wonderful this cabin is. It's full of local history, charm, comfort and beauty. Our host was very knowledgeable about the area including great places to eat and things to do. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was stocked and location was convenient.

Girl’s Trip

In my search for rustic cabins, I happened upon this little piece of history. We absolutely loved the history of it having been built in 1810 as the miller’s cabin and grist mill. The owner is one of the sweetest souls we’ve ever encountered. The care that is taken for guests is above and beyond! We’ll be back!!!

Authentic Rustic Perfect Cabin

This cabin is a true cabin but with modern amenities like WiFi and a good size TV. It’s very cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay in Abingdon and this place made it perfect for my husband and me. We went to the casinos and winery. It was a bit cold to walk the trails but will do that on our next trip. The owner was very responsive and personable. We will stay here again!

Charming cabin in great location

We had a wonderful weekend in Abingdon at this charming cabin. We have rented a lot of places over the past few years and this one ranks as one of the best. Beautifully landscaped and decorated, we could not have loved this place more. The lot was beautiful and we enjoyed grilling on the deck out back. My husband even caught a fish from the creek behind the cabin. Regina was very responsive to our questions and great to deal with. We would definitely stay here again.

Authentic and relaxing

Such a wonderful place!! Loved all the touches that made it period correct but also the modern things that made it comfortable. Regina was awesome! She stopped by and told us about the property and the family pictures on the wall. And left us a delicious cake!! We loved the porch swing out front and the deck with the sounds of the river. Hope to be back someday!

Thanksgiving 2021

My family stayed here for our Thanksgiving dinner . The cabin is very well decorated and comfortable. It's very authentic. This house had the feeling of a lot of love . We cooked dinner with the convenience of stores or the owner very near by. Regina left us a cake , which was phenomenal. Everything we needed was at our fingertips . I would definitely stay again!!!!

Comfort and Beauty

Regina’s hospitality is second to none. Excellent communication, easy check-in, and personal touches to make our family stay perfect. The cabin has the most thoughtful amenities of any vacation rental we have stayed in. Books, games, record albums, movies, more than you can imagine! Our kids had a great time exploring the outdoors, playing in the creek, and fishing. We will definitely be returning in the future. Perfect spot for family time.

Beautiful place, very nicely decorated. Loved the old feel of it. It has so much character. The house had everything you could need. The hostess even had left us a delicious cake! The only negative was the traffic noise at night on a busy highway near the property. But everything else was great! We would stay here again.

Perfect Escape

This property was exactly what we wanted for a long weekend. The house was very clean and had all of the furnishings, utensils and other items to make everything go smoothly. The owner was attentive and checked on us to make sure we were comfortable. Check-in and out could not have been easier. We enjoyed eating out on the back deck. I think this property is best for a family with older or adult children due to having one bathroom and steep steps to two of the three bedrooms. Overall a delightful property!

Rustic Excellence

This property is a wonderful mix of rustic charm and good amenities. Original logs are showing in the living room, original wood plank floors in most spaces, stone fireplaces with gas insert for ease of use, very comfortable beds and TVs with streaming service in multiple spaces. Yes, the kitchen and bathroom are dated but they are clean and functional. It started as an 1800's era cabin with add-ons over time so this is expected and part of the charm. Host was very responsive and communication was easy. Highly recommend and will stay again.

Wonderful and unique

Regina was very responsive and available to answer any questions we had. The cabin was cozy and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The location was very convenient both to Lebanon and Abingdon. Both sets of stairs to the upstairs bedrooms were VERY steep (but this is disclosedbin the description). This wasn't a problem for us. Regina made us a wonderful chocolate cake and shared the recipe. We enjoyed our stay and plan to go back.

Cozy Cabin! Don’t Miss this Experience!

This was one of the best and most interesting homes we have stayed in. The cabin is amazing and backs up to a beautiful creek. The rooms upstairs are adorable and were fun to explore how to access upon our arrival. Regina’s gardens are beautiful and the front porch is a perfect place to sip coffee in the morning and a glass of wine at night. The chocolate cake was the most amazing cake I have ever tasted, thank you! And our host Regina was incredible. We loved listening to her stories, so helpful with all of our questions about the area. We spent our spring break here with our 3 children, 8,12,15 and they all loved the experience. We ate at great restaurants in town, did a ghost tour, explored sinking springs cemetery and braved the Virginia Creeper all 34 miles! We will be back! Thank you Regina for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. We are so grateful!

Delightful surprise!

The property was better than the pictures! Cozy and charming, PLENTY of space, nicely but not overly decorated. Lots of thoughtful touches! The gas fireplace was wonderful! The kitchen and bath spacious and functional and beyond pleasant. The ONLY drawbacks are it’s RIGHT on a road and backs to a highway. It didn’t bother us but if you were hoping for remote or private you’d be disappointed. Also the steps to the second floor are EXTREMELY steep! SUPER fun if you’re a kid (and the upstairs rooms were delightful!!) but would be difficult if there were ANY mobility issues. We can’t wait to go again!

A Lovely Winter Weekend.

If you seek a peaceful stay in an eclectic cabin, painstakingly restored, then look no further. It is well appointed. The king size bed is incredibly comfortable and the gas fireplaces in both the master bedroom and living room add extra warmth on cold nights. The owners description is very accurate. So, if low ceilings, uneven floors, and steep stairs cause you heartburn, then look elsewhere. I’m 6’6” and the low ceilings/doorways just ad ambiance in my view. My spouse loved the sofas and cushy chairs. The creek is certainly large enough to provide entertainment for all ages in warmer weather. The owners were very helpful and pleasant. We certainly plan on returning.
