"The only thing cleanliness I have to complain about is the shower still had soap scum on the base of the shower floor when I stepped in it. I could feel how slick the floor was from. Where either soap scum was left or cleaning agent was left on the floor of the shower. Also, the maintenance man needs to go around, fixing a lot of cracks and caulking that are peeling"

"We did not get there until 11pm. There were two rooms which is ok but one can only be unlocked with the master key and the other was second floor (stairs only). The room on the second floor had head and pubic hair in the bathroom gross! Breakfast was ok but biscuits and gravy were great. There is an older gentleman who will make your eggs to order. Not sure how often he works since we did a week night. Front Desk staff were great"

"The room was clean and it had a fridge. Its breakfast was served, although it was mediocre. They did not have any filtered water or place to fill up a water bottle. The front staff was fine. Some were helpful and some were distracted."

"Unexpected $50 cash deposit required to get your key. It’s to guarantee no smoking. I understand but it should be clarified beforehand. There was what sounded like a violent fight upstairs. Domestic it sounded like. I just wanted to sleep after driving 7 hours, but I couldn’t ignore the apparent assault. I did call and the owner was notified. After happening intermittently for about 1 1/2 hours, it ended. I was grateful. Hope the people get help."

"I had four rooms. They were clean but one of the bathrooms had rectangular opening in the wall. It was nice size. Not a lot to pick from for breakfast. "

"As a lover of architecture, it scratched the itch to stay in a historic mansion. Like much of Richmond, IL, this house was many decades past its prime, witnessed by the broken car parked out front and the 70's apartment complex that overlooks its backyard. The home has tons of space and some beautiful original features, but you have to balance them with the broken, mismatched thrift store furniture, the challenging lack of outlets/strangely placed switches and dusty old curtains some on broken rods. We appreciated the renovated bathrooms and good water pressure, but were cringing by the lack of mattress pads, colorful microfiber sheets and old mismatched towels. Sharpened knives and ice were also missing. For a stay that cost slightly more than a chain hotel, we were satisfied, and applaud owners who are trying to maintain a significant old home, but wouldn't be excited to return to the home in it's current condition because there just weren't enough inviting spaces despite all the square footage."
