"Impressive hotel in a great location"
Elegant, comfortable, and welcoming. Location near Strada Nova and a vaporetto stop make it easy to get around, find basic needs like banks and supermarkets, and see plenty of local life as well as tourist highlights. My room facing the Grand Canal was a bit noisy—but that's a minor complaint and to be expected when right on the canal. I wish the hotel would update its electricity offerings—outlets and USB connections near the bed would make it so much easier to charge your various devices. And the wifi in the room was painfully slow and painfully difficult to connect to. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful and offered terrific recommendations for restaurants and for getting around. I enjoyed my stay very much and would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"stay in Venice"
I liked that the hotel was in a quiet area away from the crowds. The water transport to St Mark's square was a plus. The breakfast was great but dinner was okay. The staff were very pleasant. The Spa needs some work. Small thin towels and an unpleasant odor was very off putting. The rest of the hotel and gardens were lovely.

Pocket Guide: Venice City Center Cannaregio 5 stars Hotels

For visitors arriving by rail or by bus, Cannaregio is Venice’s front door and the start of the Grand Canal. It sees a lot of passing traffic in terms of canal boats and visitors en route to San Marco, but is otherwise quieter and less touristy than central Venice. Points of interest include the Ghetto area (the original Jewish enclave) with its museums and the majestic Ca d’Oro palace, one of the iconic buildings of the Grand Canal.
