With winter fast approaching for residents of New Zealand, many Kiwis are hoping to get away to somewhere warm in the next few months. To help tourists decide what destination could be best for them, travel advocacy site TripAdvisor.com has recently crafted a list of the best travel destinations in the world - and New Zealand tourists interested in warm weather, cool city life and a lot of culture might want to consider a holiday in Tokyo.
Listed as the top destination in Asia, Tokyo is the one of the largest cities in the world and is diverse enough to suit any desire that a traveler can dream up.
Cultural travelers will definitely want to visit the sub-city of Asakusa, one of the city's highest rated attractions on the user-review site. New Zealand travelers can explore the beauteous Sensou-ji temple and browse the many food stalls and shops that line the path to the temple gate.
Tech-savvy travelers may not want to leave Tokyo's "electric town," Akihabara, home to innumerable video arcades, electronics stores and duty free shops.
Of course those vacationers more interested in arts may want to take in traditional Japanese theater at the Kabukiza theater in Ginza (the second highest rated attraction on TripAdvisor) or see the latest in modern and conceptual art at the Mori Art Museum in Roppongi.
