Kiwis who want to take trips with just the boys can choose a city recently voted as the best for guys by AskMen.com's new survey. Nearly 30 various metropolises around the globe were chosen, specialising in catering to guys' needs when they are on the road solo or taking a holiday with friends.
The locales vary in their offerings, from places with plenty of active pursuits to cities that were used in famous action movies. While some tropical destinations filled with golf courses or cultural hubs boasting great cigar bars may have been top choices in the past, many Kiwi men are venturing to otherwise overlooked places that can make for unforgettable expeditions.
For instance, male travellers can make plans for the city of Tianjin by taking flights to Beijing and heading a few miles southeast to the locale. This place is an up and coming centre for all kinds of sports, including polo, which can be exciting to witness at one of its many athletic venues. A new movie production studio dubbed "Chinawood" was recently built in the city as well, which offers tours of its lavish premises.
Kiwi men who enjoy the beach could consider a trip to Tel Aviv. This bustling locale is full of luxury travel options for affluent males who wish to be pampered in style. From boutique eateries, high fashion menswear stores and plenty of trendy bars, this destination is ideal for activities and also sun worshippers who want to hit the sandy shores at any time of year.
Men's Health magazine also weighed in on their picks for the best trips a guy can take while on holiday. If Kiwis venture to the United States, they can head to the western part of the country and take a special man getaway focused on the art of barbecue. In Colorado Springs, Colorado, there is a special organisation that offers a three-day workshop for men to learn how to master the grill in a variety of different cultural styles, including Argentinian, Korean and Thai.
Other recommended excursions include camping near an active volcano at Volcan Pacaya in Guatemala, kayaking among the diverse wildlife in the Galapagos Islands or learning how to scuba dive at the barrier reef off the coast of Belize
