Soju is a distilled rice wine drink that’s been present for centuries in Korean history. Its grainy complex and savoury taste have been replaced by the commercial mass-produced green bottle that everyone is familiar with, not to mention all the available fruity flavours. This experience will fix this taboo or stigma about Soju and give you the right and true experience of tasting this unique drink. We’ll begin our experience by tasting different types of traditional Soju with a blind-tasting exercise alongside some light snacks. After tasting, we will use some Soju and make a fun seasonal cocktail. Experience tasting traditional Soju, comparing commercial and traditional varieties, making cocktails with traditional Soju, and sampling fresh Makgeolli from Baekusaeng brewery.
