Overview

This 2-day tour provides you with the opportunity to discover the natural wonders of the Danube Delta. This is the 2nd-largest river delta in Europe and is comprised largely of wetlands and water, and intricate patterns of channels, marshes, small streams, and lakes.

The Danube Delta is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It is home to more than 300 species of birds and 45 species of fresh-water fish that inhabit its numerous lakes and marshes.

The trip starts with a pick up from your hotel at 8:00 am and drive to Constanta, the oldest city of the Romanian territory (657 BC). Constanta is the largest harbour at the Black Sea and the fourth largest commercial harbour in Europe.

This city (mentioned for the first time in the 8th century BC) is known as “The gate to the Danube Delta”, and it is located on the site of seven hills. Tulcea’s ancient name was Aegyssus, and it was a Greek settlement initially. You will have lunch and head to Bucharest, arriving in the evening.
