Will never go back to this place.
The hotel was not what I expected. The rooms were too old. The sheets had cigarette burns. The bathroom door didn’t lock properly. The small refrigerator in our room was broken and we didn’t know so our food spoiled. The toilet tank broke down on and off and my husband kept trying to fix it, not what one wants to be doing while on vacation. The TV had few channels and no on demand movies that one could pick from. "Free Breakfast" was totally misleading. Breakfast was bagels, cold cereal and some bananas in a room that fits 16 people when the hotel/motel houses maybe 300 people, very disappointing. When we arrived for breakfast everything was almost gone and no place to sit. I would say remove this part of your advertisement as it is a poor service to offer your guests.

Disappointed.
I had had good experiences with Howard Johnson’s as a child travelling with my parents. I was looking forward to staying at this hotel. Front desk personnel seem badly trained and are very slow. The pool is small and the accompanying spa/hot tub was dirty and very uninviting. Hotel is right by freeway, so request other side if making reservations since it is very noisy on the freeway side. The Rise n’ Shine free continental breakfast is very good.

Do not stay at this hotel/motel. The rooms smell and the carpet is filthy.
I have never felt the need to write a bad review about anything but i just could not pass up this oppurtunity. First off my expectations were low. I am not a la-de-da person and did not care about the freeway noise or the small pool. My wife, two boys (6 & 5) and I just needed a place to stay for our two day vac to LEGOLAND. HERE IT IS: The carpet was filthy, normally i would not care but it was really filthy, my sons socks were black after 20 min. The room smelled of dirt, lack of ventalation or who knows what. Again I am not very hard to please but i could not believe the condition of the room and how bad it smelled. I had read some reviews about the dirty carpet prior to booking the room, but thought the people were just complainers. The person at the front desk was ok, very bland, not rude but did not help. The next day they moved us to another room but it was just to much work for being on vacation. The second room was a little better but not much. The manager and I went into the first room we had and apologized for the smell and said that some of the hotel/motel’s carpets were overdue for cleaning. I felt he should have comped the first day or gave us a small discount. He didnt offer and I didnt ask. Another thing; the breakfast is terrible and the eating area is small. Anyway its about 10 min from Legoland and there are plenty of other options in between. I do not recommend this hotel/motel. I feel liike a complainer but i had to write this. Legoland was awesome.
