Had Great Experience!
It was in the heart of Dublin and the people working behind the desk where very helpful even though we were delayed 2 extra days because of the volcanic ash over Ireland. They were helpful and very considerate.

Excellent Location/Management
When we arrived at the hotel it was 9am in the morning and they immediately had a room available for us, which was wonderful considering we were up for 22 hours. During our first evening, we did not get any sleep because of our neighbors upstairs kept us up from 3:11am-10:24am and continued throughout the day making loud banging noises, jumping on the floor etc. We went downstairs and talked to Management, whom were VERY NICE and understanding and told us if we wanted to switch rooms they would accommodate us. It was wonderful we received an UPGRADE and move to other end of the hotel. They went out of their way to give a wonderful stay and they did. Everyday they asked us how we were doing and was their anything they could do for us. I would recommend this hotel and staff to visitors in a minute and the location could not have been better. The Garda "Police" were right across the street, so was the bus station. One block down was the train station and Talbot street (excellent Italian restaurants) and 3 blocks was OConnell street.
Buy the all day get on get off pass for the Dart - for 2 adults is was 14.30 euros. Very afforable and worth the price and you get from 6:30am - 11pm and can visit over 20 cities and 4+castles.

Convenient location, small but clean hotel
The location was very convenient to bus routes, etc. The room was small but adequate. The major problem was that the room was situated at the rear next to the alley and over the hotel bar, with an additional bar right across the alley. The noise went on until the wee hours and made it difficult to rest after the long flight over and after the daytime hours there. I would want a room in a different location in the hotel before Id stay there again.

Not a bad choice...
This hotel was our home base in Dublin. It was close to the train station, and not a far walk from all the action, pubs, shopping, Trinity College, etc. The room itself was comfortable and was fairly roomy. The workout room was a godsend. The restaurant was excellent, if not a bit pricey. The staff were friendly and very professional. One front desk staff person even made us coffee one early morning before the restaurant was open. Wake-up calls were not on time, though, and the tea/water kettle in the room was absolutely disgusting (as it was at all of our hotels in Europe--BEWARE!), so we couldnt have coffee/tea in the room. Would stay here again in a pinch.

basic, clean, great location
its your typical 3 star hotel in europe, very basic but clean. whats great is its location- walkable to most tourist areas and next to the bus/tram station if you want to take longer trips outside of dublin. people complained about the noise level being next to this but it gets quiet by midnight. didnt get to deal with personnel much but the evening desk clerk could be friendlier.by the way this hotel offers free airport shuttle bus return so dont buy a return airlink bus ticket from the airport.

Good deal
I was impressed overall with this hotel. The room was small but clean and well-designed. We had no problem with two people staying there for a week. Its easy to walk to just about everything in central Dublin, and right near bus and train stations so you can get around. In fact, that might be the only downside to this place - we had to deal with some loud drunks hanging out by the bus station several nights, which happened to be right outside our window. But overall, great hotel, and with its location just one block north of the river, youll probably save a bunch of money over anything youll find in Temple Bar.

Decent 2-3 star hotel close to bus station...short on amenities
This hotel was the first of 7 hotels we were to stay at during our recent trip to Ireland. Luckily, we stayed here first, and therefore had no basiis for comparison. This hotel is conveniently located for the traveler coming in to the bus station (which is directly across the street), however it is located a cab ride away from the main sights and attractions of Dublin. The hotel itself is of average quality, which I would liken to a Days Inn or Travelodge. No A/C, for those traveling in the summer months. Most of the rooms overlook a restaurant/bar, which shut down around 10 or 11pm. The beds were rather hard, since the mattress pad was maybe 1.5 inches thick on top of a slab. It worked out fine for me, because I like a firm mattress, but my wife was having a difficult time sleeping. The lack of A/C probably isnt that big of a deal 50 months out of the year, but the time we spent in Dublin was warm and humid...so A/C would have been nice. But hey, what can expect from a 3 star hotel? Overall, I would say that this is a decent hotel for the rest-weary traveler looking to stay close to the bus station or police station.
Traveller's tip on nightlife
If youre looking for nightlife, stay away from this hotel...all pubs in the area close by 10 or 11pm. If you want to be close to the action, look closer to the Temple bar area...or get started early!

Good Hotel for the price
Was a very nice hotel, however; on the backside/left of the hotel is located a nightclub. We were kept up by the music vibrating throught the walls. Next morning asked to be moved and they did a wonderful job of relocating us. The staff were very helpful and most understanding of this slight dilema. Location to pubs and shopping was within walking distance and located right across from the bus station.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
By purchasing a Hop-on Hop-Off bus ticket you can do you sightseeing with ease. If you stay and sightsee in the Dublin area, then you will of course only see the city portion. No countryside. That is a whole different tour. Be prepared to spend some additional euros.

Great for the price!
This hotel was great for the price. We stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful time. The staff was very helpful with travel information and tips for what was good to do while we visited. If you are on a budget and what a clean, nice hotel to stay at, this is the one!

Pleasantly surprised
We were very pleased with this hotel choice. Great location right next to the bus station and city tram. Staff was very nice and very helpful. We had a double room (one queen bed) and a triple (one double, one twin). Both were very nice. The bathroom in the double was awesome; the one in the triple was a bit smaller. Our only complaint was that the window to our double was right over the local bar -- so the noise lingered into the night -- but you are in Dublin, right? The hotel is an older building with creaky floors, but that added to the charm. The price was right -- we would stay here again.

Friendly staff
Great facilities. Was only a short walk to oconnell st where theres great shopping and has stop for the hop-on hop-off bus and other public transport. The temple bar is just over the river and easy to walk to. Being opposite the train station made it very convenient. We arrived via the airport and the airlink bus ends at the train station.

Worth a stay!
This place is just far enough out of Dublins CBD to be away from the noise but oh so convenient. A 7 minute walk and you find yourself in the main part of town. The hotel is clean, well kept and I found staff friendly. With the airport bus just across the road and some very nice places to eat around the area, I was glad that I stayed here rather than in Temple Bar.

OK Hotel
The Isaacs is OK as a hotel. We had only two problems. The throw pillows on the beds seemed to be quite greasy. We were placed in their new section and it was a bit difficult to find the way to and from the room. The new section is quite nice and usually requires a supplement over the normal room cost but we were not charged extra. The hotel is very convenient to the central bus station - just across the street from the bus from the airport.

Nice Hotel for the Price and Near Toursit Attractions
We needed a hotel fast, near downtown and within our budget. Isaacs was in walking distance to all the museums and pubs. Our room was right across from the bus station, but didnt hear the buses when the window was closed. Fair sized room, new bathroom, but the shower burst out water. The carpets in the hallways need to be upgraded. They were very dirty. The restaurant and bar in the hotel were a nice addition to our stay.

Not Satisfied
The hotel is located right next to the DART tracks and is extremely noisy at night if the window is open. You must keep the window open since there is no working AC in the room. Even when window is closed the trains is a bother. Also The rooms are situated above a hostel where you have people being very noise outside until very early hours in the morning. It is convienent because it is located near the bus station and near trains but not a peaceful get away. If you think you will be out late every night and dont wish to wake up early in the morning to sight see this is the place for you with a great price.other than that look away from the DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) train.

Located near bus station. A real plus if you are traveling by bus to or from Dublin,
Located by the bus station. Internet service available. Older building, needs work from the outside. Inside room was clean and comfortable. Soundproofing is not good could hear people above.
Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Buses in Irland are a good way to get around so this location is great because you do no have to carry your luggage very far.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Dublin is a walking city, so choose a hotel as close inside the city centre as you can. Ireland was more expensive than we anticipated but well worth it. We had a blast. Go see the countywide, especially the coast.

Great location, decent play to stay
The main reason to stay at the Isaacs Hotel is location. The hotel is across the street from the main bus station in Dublin. Its also down the block from the tram line that runs across the city. The location was definitely key for us, as it saved us from having to spend lots of money on taxis when we did our sight-seeing. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the Temple Bar/shopping area, which is where we went out most nights. If youre going to Dublin to drink the night away, then you might want to stay someplace closer, especially if youre visiting during the winter. However, if you want to get a good sense of the city and stay in a relatively quiet place, then the Isaacs is a good choice. The hotel itself is nothing spectacular, but it is clean and well-maintained. Avoid the cafe and restaurant at the hotel (unless your room rate includes a free breakfast, in which case by all means...)- its somewhat overpriced and the food is only mediocre.
Traveller's tip on local attractions
If youre looking for a nice pub meal and atmosphere, visit the bar at the Arlington Hotel, about a 10 minute walk from the Isaacs. Theres plenty of seating and we caught some great live music there.
