Shhs! Heathrow to Paddington Station -- non-stop Great value.

Location excellent within 1/4 block of Paddington Station a swift train ride from Heathrow to dwntwn London. Comfy, adequate room -- small by Amrican stdards--great price to comfort convenience ratio! Don’t tell anyone! Keep the secret -- great value.

"Good Medium Priced Hotel"

For a crowded London neighborhood, this hotel is a nice respite. Our room was small (they all are), but well appointed. The bathroom was spotless. The king sized bed was comfortable. The staff; Ali, Guiseppe, George, were very helpful with suggestions and directions. The fitness room is small, but it has everything any person could need for a decent workout.

Small room, convenient location

I had booked the room expecting it would be two of us staying...it turns out my friend was with me during the day but did not stay the evening and I was leaving the country the next day. The room was a fine size for one person...it would have been tight for two. The king size bed was probably queen size US. Still, it was literally right outside of Paddington Station, great for catching the Heathrow Express to the airport and also very easy to catch buses to the theatre district, Kensington, and various other places I went to. Lots of good restaurants right around the hotel. Breakfast was not included but the restaurant attached to the hotel served a good and not expensive breakfast. So I was basically quite satisfied. I booked the hotel for the location and it was clean and very convenient. The staff was very helpful with check in, checking bags for me, etc.

location location location

While the room was small, all was clean and serice excellent. The main reason for staying in this hotel, however, is location. It makes seeing London much easier being close to the Paddington Station and Tube stop.

Convenient place to stay as a base for seeing London.

Quality Crown is very conveniently located less than 1/2 block from Paddington Station. Take the Connect train from Heathrow -- cheaper than the Connect -- and this hotel is a very short walk. The underground and a bus stop are also easily accessed from Paddington. The hotel room was very compact, but was clean and well-maintained. My room had a king bed that was comfortable. I pack my own top sheet and a thin blanket when I travel to Europe since typically your room only has a bottom sheet and a duvet. Also bring your own wash cloth. The room had a small desk and a "mini-closet" that my large bag barely fit into. The elevator was out of service, but the bellman took my suitcase to the room. Also, I arrived around 1PM and the front desk attendant checked me in with no wait - much appreciated after an overseas flight. For U.S. travelers, most electrical devices are enabled by inserting your room card into a slot, then the lamps and other outlets may have a switch that also controls them. Bring a 110V adapter for your laptop or phone charger. I didn’t eat at this hotel. There’s a good pub on Praed Street near the opposite corner of Paddington that has better than average pub food called the "Pride of Paddington" and a mini mart across the street from the pub. Small room, typical of London, no view from the room, but comfortable. I’d stay there again.

Everything OK. Did not use many hotel services. Councierge was helpful the one time I asked for help and directions. Small room but that is Central London.

Very Convenient and Clean !!

This is hotel is ideally located just next to Paddington Station which makes arriving to London and leaving very easy. I used the Heathrow Express to get to and from the airport and it could not be more easy. In addition, you can use the Tube (London subway system) to get to and from airport as a cheaper option.

It’s Paddington so you know what to expect

The hotel is fine - rooms are small, but that’s not exactly shocking given that they’re selling the place based on its location. To that end, it’s much better than the hotels down the road. I’d stay at this place again so long as I didn’t have to do anything other than sleep because the room was dead little.

Good Location but VERY small room

The hotel is just a place to sleep and get to where you were going in London. The room is very small, even for European standards. I have been in small rooms before but I think this was the smallest ever. It was very close to the train station and the tube so it made it easy to get around. And this was the selection criteria for the hotel...so the small room was fine with us.

Great location, small rooms

There is no parking in front to load and unload. The rooms are VERY small unless you upgrade to an executive room which is what we had to do. THe rooms were very nice and were remodelled. There is a restaurant onsite and the subway and train station is accross the street. The staff was very nice. Overall the stay was great when we upgraded to the bigger room.

Looking forward to another stay!

The hotel was more than we could have asked for. The staff was extremely helpful and more than curteous towards us. The restaurant adjoining the hotel was very good and convenient. The location was the best part of the hotel...it wasa extremely easy to navigate all of London from the moment we arrived at Heathrow Airport. The underground is less than a minutes walk and the bus stops directly outside of the hotel.

Worth It

This hotel is ideally located in Paddington right outside the train station. It is also a direct stop from Heathrow. The location of this hotel makes sense for the first time traveler to London, in that it would be hard to get lost finding your way to the hotel from the airport, if you are doing it alone. It is an easy trip from the airport and easy access to the London Tube(and buses). The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was ready before normal checkin time. The room was a bit small but not uncomfortable. The surrounding area has lots of restaurants within walking distance. Overall this hotel is worth considering, based on its location and ease of access.

Quality Crown..short on quality

Location was great, next to Paddington Station..Rooms were very small, and the power was out more than it was on..This included no hot water on one day and very limited internet service. Would not recommend this hotel unless you enjoy cold showers. Cheers

Great location, very clean and comfortable!

Yes, by US standards, the rooms are small. However, not any smaller than comparable rooms in most of Europe. Our room was very clean, the staff was friendly, and the location was perfect. The express train to and from Heathrow and the access to the underground system made getting around London very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location for business travels in the UK

Excellent hotel when traveling for business in the UK. Literally, right outside the door of the Paddington train station, therefore, easy access to Heathrow connections and points outside/inside London. Price was in an appropriate range for new hotel. Air conditioning lowest allowable setting is 20 C. Restaurant (Garfunkel’s) right down stairs - good fish n’ chips. No business center, but rooms all wireless accessible and the excellent customer service will even let you print your airline boarding passes from their computer when desk traffic isn’t busy. I would stay here again.

Great location if you are coming to London via the Heathrow Express

The best thing I can say is its great location next to Paddington Station. My single room was very small and had no room for my suitcase. No mini bar. There are stairs going into hotel and a few stairs going to the elevator and the carpeting in the very narrow hallways made it difficult to handle luggage. Good gym.

Beautiful Modern Rooms and Great Location

Can’t beat it for the price. We stayed at the Crown Paddington for 9 nights in May, 2009 on vacation. The underground is right at the corner, Hyde Park a short walk, and the hotel was exceptionally clean, with new modern room. We upgraded to the Executive King, which I would highly recommend and the other rooms tend to be small. The Executive King was spacious and very comfortable. The only negative is it is a bit hard to get ice (but where isn’t it in Europe?), but they always managed to come through.

Perfect location!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room had a king size bed. The room was small, but MOST hotel rooms in London are small. It was to be expected. The location is perfect!! It’s 20 feet away from Paddington station. We had a quick trip on the Heathrow express and bingo, we were at our hotel. The bathroom was recently remodeled and it was very nice. There was plenty of closet space and the view from our window looked directly down on Pread street. Nice place, I would stay there again!

Traveller's tip on saving a few bucks

For a REALLY good breakfast....go to Raffle’s cafe. It is two blocks down Praed street on the opposite side of the road from the hotel. Best breakfast in Paddington! Huge breakfast for two with lots of coffee was 11 pounds. They didn’t rush us either.

Great Hotel Great Location

paddington is a great location to stay for seeing London. The hotel is right next to the Padington Station and right next to the Tube entrance. There are many restaurants from fast food to ethnic in the immediate area. There are also small markets. The hotel was modern and clean and the service was great. I would definately stay there again and would gladly recommend the hotel to friends.

Great Location

We had to do a lot of day trips and the trains all left from Paddington Station. It was so convenient and everything you need is nearby. The room was small, but that is to be expected in Europe. The room was comfortable and having the internet on the TV was fantastic.

Traveller's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Stay here is you are doing day trips to Bath, Oxford or Windsor. So convenient to the station and after a long day, being able to get off the train and be in your room in less than 5 minutes is priceless!

Really great hotel

The hotel was really nice and in a great location. You can easily walk to many tourist attractions and monuments, or take the bus or underground located literally just outside the hotel. The only drawback is that Paddington is a business area, so do not stay here thinking it’s a party place. We met the staff on every shift, and they were all extremely helpful and kind.

Traveller's tip on nightlife

Think about staying somewhere else if you want to experience the nightlife. Pubs close at 11:00 pm, so late night fun has to be had at dance clubs, which are not found mainly in Lester’s square. You can always take a cab to the clubs and back, but that gets expensive. This is a really nice place to stay, but you should rethink it if you want to enjoy late night activities.
