Greaqt location and quiet
This was the perfect location for us! We will certainly go back, even though most of the desk staff was a little snooty. That is our only (and very minor) negative comment, especially since the doorman couldnt have been friendlier. The bed was fine and the pillows were great. The street noise was minimal which was a big plus and we, two petite women, felt safe walking in the area of the hotel no matter how late the hour was. There was no need for us to have worried that the location in the Financial District wouldnt meet our needs. The Gild Hall is a short walk west to Century 21 (discount shopping) and Ground Zero. Or east a few blocks to one of the locations to purchase half price theater tickets and the South Seaport. Path and subway stations are nearby, so its also easy to get anywhere else. The Gild Hall is close enough to Castle Clinton that it was convenient to get up and catch the first ferry to the Statue of Liberty. Or to take an early morning run on the Brooklyn Bridge, even though construction made it even more crowded. There are numerous reasonably priced restaurants nearby and also markets with great food/salad bars in case you dont want a restuarant meal. If flying in/out of Newark, since the hotel is close, walk the short distance to take the train to/from the Path Station for a less expensive means of transportation. Thats how well get there when we return for our next stay at the Gild Hall.

I feel very lucky to have found this hotel.
My stay at Gild Hall was like a home away from home. Everyone was friendly and very professional. Asked for a couple of small things for the room, no problem. (Extra pillow and linen).
