Terms & Conditions

  1. Expedia Price Promise. In the event that you find a lower publicly available rate for a travel service on Expedia.co.nz or on another New Zealand-based website within 24 hours of booking with Expedia.co.nz, we will credit or refund to you the difference plus $1. In addition, we will give you a single-use fifty dollar (NZ$50.00) coupon that can be used towards a future booking of an Expedia Special Rate hotel or air plus hotel package on Expedia.co.nz. This Expedia Price Promise is subject to the terms and conditions listed below.
  2. Notifying Expedia of a Claim. You must contact us at 0800 998 799 within twenty-four (24) hours after your Expedia.co.nz booking to make a claim under the Expedia Price Promise. The lower rate must be available for booking at the time you contact us, as determined by our customer service representatives applying the criteria set out below.
  3. Must be "Apples to Apples" Comparison. The Expedia Price Promise is available only for exact itinerary matches, for example, specific carrier or provider (including class of service), hotel (including room type), activity (including provider and activity duration/inclusions), rental car company and vehicle class, applicable refund policy, and the exact same dates and times of travel or service as booked through Expedia.co.nz. For any stand-alone product booking (for example, a hotel room or an airline ticket), the comparison must be to the same product purchased stand-alone through another website (i.e., not part of a hotel + air travel package). The Expedia Price Promise is not available for the purchase of travel insurance products. Except as noted below, the Expedia Price Promise applies only to the cost of booked travel, as presented in the Expedia.co.nz search results, inclusive of taxes and fees. The Expedia Price Promise is not available for bookings on websites where the carrier, property, rental car company, itinerary or similar booking details are unknown until after purchase. You must meet all requirements imposed on the lower price (if any), including, without limitation, any residency, regional and age-related requirements.
  4. Comparison Rates Must Be Available to the General Public Online. The Expedia Price Promise applies only to prices both advertised and available to the general public on an English-language website. For example, this does not include rates offered on membership program websites, corporate discounts or rates; group, charter, rewards program, incentive, meeting, convention, consolidator or interline prices; prices obtained via auction or similar process; or prices available only by using a coupon or other promotion not offered to the general public. The lower rate may not come from a website where you call to get the rate, or from an e-mail that you received. The rate must be quoted and able to be booked, and paid for in New Zealand dollars (without the use of a currency exchange calculator) at the time you contact the Expedia.co.nz customer service representatives.
  5. Important Note Regarding Activities and Travel Packages When you book an activity, or a travel package (i.e., air + hotel, air + hotel + car, air + car, or hotel + car booked together as a package on the same itinerary) with Expedia.co.nz, the Expedia Price Promise applies to the cost of the activity or the travel package, respectively, inclusive of taxes and fees.
  6. Verification of Claims. So that Expedia can confirm that the lower quote is genuine, available and able to be booked by the general public, all requests and claims, including receipts, are subject to verification by Expedia.co.nz customer service representatives. Expedia will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that cannot be independently confirmed by Expedia.co.nz customer service representative. Nor will Expedia verify any request that it believes, in its sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith. You must provide the customer service representative with all requested information relating to the lower price including, without limitation, the address of the website on which the lower price is available, the identity of the relevant travel goods or services and the applicable dates for use of same. Failure to provide the Expedia customer service representatives with sufficient evidence or details of the lower price may result in invalidation of your claim. For verification of stand alone car rental and non-prepaid hotel bookings, the customer service representative will instruct you to mail a copy of your car or hotel receipt to Expedia within thirty (30) days after you have completed the rental or hotel stay. Verified requests will receive a credit to the credit card used for the booking, within approximately 7-10 days of verification.
  7. Limits on Coupons. Limit: one (1) $50 coupon per entire booking, and three (3) coupons per customer per calendar month (regardless of the number of accounts used by the customer). Each coupon is valid for one (1) year from month of issuance and is subject to the coupon terms & conditions provided with the coupon.
  8. Changes. Expedia may modify or discontinue the Expedia Price Promise or restrict its availability to any person, at any time, without prior notice or liability to you, except where excluding or limiting liability is prohibited by law. The terms that are in effect at the time of your booking will determine your eligibility under the Expedia Price Promise. No change in the Expedia Price Promise will affect any coupon that has already been issued to you. The failure by Expedia to enforce any provision of these Terms & Conditions shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
