For $170 a night it's a pretty junky place. I get that Zurich is expensive, but this place is pretty run down and dingy. Reasonably clean, but I wouldn't stay there again.

It is a very conveniently located hotel, just 1 min from the Limmatplatz tram stop and two stops from the Hauptbahnhof. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and roomy. the price was very good.

I liked you could open the windows(not all hotels have that) I did not like to hear the bells from the church nearby in the middle of the night but that is not the hotels fault

This hotel room was small, but clean. We were only staying for one night before heading to the airport the next morning so it was perfect for us, but I'm not sure if it's spacious enough fit a longer stay. Overall though, we were very pleased with the location and general condition of the room.

Please keep in mind: we are only a 3*Hotel ... and many hotels do not provide exclusive toilet articles anymore. Since we still have smoking rooms (yes, there are still smokers on this world), the smoking was allowed. And as a city hotel it unfortunately can happen, that there is traffic on the street which might cause noise. Regarding the missing AC we apologize - but we never had or published it. Kind regards

The staff was sooo helpful at check in and when we had questions about the area, the trams and the things to do. We contacted them late in the evening for additional bedding and they responded cordially and quickly. The hotel was well maintained, clean and quiet. The three of us were delighted with the staff upon arrival and during our stay. We will go out of our way to book this hotel on our next stay in Zurich. Very highly recommend.

Heatwave!
We went during the dreaded heat wave and they had no A/C. Not their fault it was so hot, but, be warned there is no A/C in rooms. They gave us a fan, but, still a VERY hot night.

We apologise for the inconveniences - but if you read BEFOREhand the information about the hotel, you could have seen, that we never had A/C at all! And the amenities always depend on the booking for which room was chosen. So always read first and then book (to avoid blaming someone else).

Simple but clean hotel
Enjoyed the stay in the hotel. The service was good, the room was clean and was well equipped. I even could check in before noon. Will come back. its in decent distance to the railway station.

Firstly, I very much like the fact that the hotel is so near and easy to get to from the airport. Secondly, it has a variety of trams that pass by and thirdly it is very close to shops and amenities.

A super basic experience. Really depressing hallways and room. Couldn't make the rooms less appealing in terms of decor if they tried. Lights in the shower flickered the whole time. There is no aircon, just a floor fan. For the equivalent of £120, this place was over priced. The free breakfast was over the road in a kebab and chip shop. At least it was clean. But I would definitely not ever stay there again.

Thank you for your fair comment - we certainly know,that a building of 1935 in the original "Bauhaus"-style is not everybody's taste... but to change the decor ((as you suggest) there are many rules to follow, especially if it is a protected historical building. To serve the breakfast across the street is born out of necessity: we at least wanted to offer the possibility of having breakfast - it's the guests' own decisition if they want to go there.

Reasonable hotel close to central train station, a supermarket and restaurants including McDonald's. The room can be very noisy if it is facing the main street, even at night. Make sure you check that there is no concerts or parties during your stay by going to this link http://www.x-tra.ch/de/. You can find other comments about the high noise level when events took place. There is no air conditioning in the room, so it can be quite hot in the summer. A fan is provided in the room. The room size is good and shower facility is okay. The hotel also provides a kettle with some free coffee and tea packs. One quirk of the hotel is they don't let you take your room key away: you have give it to the reception before you leave. Staff were extremely friendly.

We ask the guest to hand in their keys before leaving the building because of 2 reasons: if you loose it the lock needs to be changed - and that will cost the guest CHF 300,00; and secondly we would not waste precious time to evacuate an empty room in case of emergency (no key at the reception = guest is in the room). Pretty good hotel
Great if you're attending an event at the attached venue. The room was big and quite comfortable. Very noisy, though, as we faced the street and the tram goes by frequently. You can also definitely hear music from the concert venue and the nightclub in the rooms but the front desk will provide earplugs. Easy walking distance to/from the train station and the beautiful river.

Only complaint was no air condition and it was hot. Our room was on the street and very noisy most of the night. Street cleaners started at 4am. Plug-ins were hard to access. The room itself was clean and spacious.

Good location close to Silqhuai bus terminal
Pros: Great Location, 5min walk to Silqhuai bus terminal and HB main central station of Zurich. Shops and supermarket close by. Cons: Budget style hotel, no amenities (with the exception of towels), old style tiny tv, no air con, beds and pillows were very uncomfortable and dirty (found old childrens toys and empty sweet wrappers in between the beds. The front desk staff could do with a bit of extra customer service training. Area outside was noisy as you could here the loud church clock go off every hour during the night, disco music and drunks which made it hard to sleep. I was charged an extra 50 swiss franks for having a guest stay with me. No hotel in the world has ever charged me this fee and I've stayed in hundreds. For a cheap short stay in Zurich, good hotel otherwise I would avoid it.

Don't do it....
Good location but horrible hotel. Staff were not bad with me but I saw them be very rude to at least two other guests during my stay. Also they take your keys whenever you leave the hotel which I have never seen in my life in all of my travels. Also feels very unsafe with poor lighting inside. You hear all the noise from the streets and tram outside starting at 4am till 12pm. Spend the extra $50 and go somewhere else. You will thank me. Only pro is the locating being just up the street from main train station and most tour starting points.

Pros: - Good location - Easy to get everywhere - Price - Some of the peeps at the reception were very nice - Some nice bars next door Cons: - My room didn't look very charming, more like a hospital room. The bathroom looked better than the living area - Internet censorship! (and I'm not talking about xxx sites) - Some noise from the concert venue next door at night and from the trams during the day - Cleaning team leaves at noon, i.e. no way to have your room cleaned up if you take it easy in the morning

Decent hotel
Stayed here for a week. Hotels in Zurich are generally pricey, and since I was on a tight budget, our group opted for a triple for a week, with the intent of using Zurich as a home base to see other parts of Switzerland. The hotel itself is a classic tourist grade hotel, in a neighborhood with great nightlife, which also includes the hotel itself, as it is connected to a nice bar/restaurant next door, and has its own concert venue/dance hall in the back. My room was on the top floor, facing the street, which allowed me to avoid the noise of the concert venue, but did not allow me to escape moderate street traffic at night, nor the club morons, who generated a lot of street noises themselves (revving motorbikes, etc.). There are also church bells behind the hotel, which go off on twice an hour, which can drive you a little nuts, but this too is out of the control of the hotel... This being said, the room itself was generally comfortable, with basic furnishings. Even though the room itself was relatively spartan, everything worked, and the staff were very nice. The hotel also has a laundry room (10 CHF for a wash and dry), and reasonable internet access. The elevator was a little temperamental, but aside from that, the room and hotel were fine for their purpose. (I cannot comment on the breakfast, as I was never in the hotel to enjoy it.)

Too loud
On top of a bar we couldnt sleep all night. It was quite difficult to fall asleep when you could hear the base of the music in your room. The second night was a bit quieter but we could still here the music. Location is good and there was parking on site which was a plus but we didn't get much rest and found ourselves extremely tired throughout the day which made it hard to enjoy the sites.

Bad stay
It was a very bad stay ever, very noisy outside from the party, traffic & church bell, we can't sleep until 4am. No wifi, the equipment inside the room was very poor. The hotel fee is too high according to the room condition. I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here.
