Not very clean, clogged sink, they didn’t service our room, terrible pillows. Lady at reception was nice but said she’d get maintenance to fix the clogged sink and didn’t, so not very effective. Breakfast was good.

Dear RussellIn principle, all our rooms have a cooling system. Unfortunately, the unusually high temperatures at this time of year put our facility to the test. Zurich is also subject to strict regulations on how far cooling is allowed. We can absolutely understand that this can sometimes not be considered sufficient for our guests. We are happy to assist on site with fans, coolant or a room change. We make every effort to ensure that our guests can have a pleasant stay even with these hot temperatures.

The hotel was nice, but we got there after 6:00pm and the check in process was terrible. After I spent 30 minutes filling out a form on the computer, it failed. There was a phone next to the laptop with a HELPLINE, so someone did pick up and help me, but it was a pain after travelling all day. Other guests were telling me "good luck with that". The room was clean and the breakfast was okay and free with the room charge.

Nice European hotel steps from local rail and within walking distance to Old Town area of Zurich. Don’t expect a large US type room. Rooms and bathrooms are small, and they serve a traditional European breakfast- no bacon and eggs here. For the money, it’s a good hotel. If you’re looking for a larger brand, you’ll pay considerably more. I’d stay here again

We loved how quiet the hotel and surrounding streets are. The beds were very comfortable. And, the area was conveniently located. The staff was mixed. Cristina was great, making good dinner recommendations, and affording an early check-in. Another staff member, said, at 6:30 in the morning, that “she wasn’t here yet”(?) And, when I asked her to send a postcard back to the US, with their next mail, she seemed very put out. So, I asked for it back, and sent it myself. Not a friendly face, first thing in the morning, and terrible last impression. But, overall, we liked the hotel.

The hotel doesn't have anyone on call in the evenings. Water were lukewarm, and TV didn't work, but there was no one to talk to about it.

Conveniently right off the bus stop and within the Old Town of Zurich, 10 mins to the main train station. The hotel is small and compact but very clean and includes all the amenities. I love the rubber ducky. The breakfast was included with our room. It provides variety of breakfast items. The waffle is delicious and different to American ones. The outside seats are perfect to enjoy the morning meal.

Self check in is not easy. Their system does not recognize Expedia reservation number, so have to call to get room key. No where were we give the door code, so had to wing it. Check in could be improved!!

That is a good hotel for a short stay in Zurich. One should keep in mind, that when you check-in in the night hours there's no front desk manager to open the entrance door so do not forget to request a code to enter the premises.

We had an early train to catch so we decided to stay overnight in Zurich so we wouldn’t be late. Though it served its purpose, we have mixed feelings about this hotel. We were able to park in one of there four parking spaces and check-in before returning our rental car over by the main train station. The walk back to the hotel from there was not terribly long, but we wouldn’t want to make that walk with luggage, so we took a taxi back to the train station the next morning. We know that most hotel rooms in Europe are small, but other than the bed, everything else was tiny, including the shower. I think the bathroom was what most of our complaints are about. It really was not as clean as we would expect, the shower drain was very slow, so we were standing in a lot of water, and the hair dryer didn’t work. There was a portable AC unit in the room, and since it had been an unusually warm day for Zurich, it ran all night long to keep the room comfortable, so I’m glad that was there, as well as the complimentary water bottles. Also, the staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were able to check-in an hour early and they arranged for our taxi the next morning. Oh, there is a wonderful bakery right across the street that opens bright and early.

Exceeded my expectations.
Well above what I expected. The pre-check in online hadn't registered that we had paid via a third party and wouldnt let us fill in our details before arrival which was worrying, their first email response was quick and helpful, the second they just didnt respond to hiwever we managed to contact them directly. We were arriving late so were concerned but we had the door code and could fill everything in via the machine in the lobby which did know we had already paid. The location is great, beds comfortable, room big enough (small bathroom). The breakfast was delicious and i loved the small details like the rubber duck in the shower, AC in room, free hand sanitizer in room and lobby and an umbrella to borrow. Very happy overall after our stay! Price worth it.

Check-in was fully online and I didn't prepare for that. But once I checked in everything was easy to use. The room: in good condition with a lot of amenities 👍 but there was some kind of humming noise in one of the two nights I stayed. Otherwise everything was perfect. Breakfast was good as well.

Careful! You might be rebooked to another hotel!
I booked one night in hotel Sorel Rex, but was rebooked the same day to hotel sorel Rüttli, as hotel Rex... was closed. I understand that during the pandemic some hotels might close, but they shouldn’t be available for booking on hotels.com! I spent some time for looking for a hotel in Zürich near a park and with parking available, hence chose Rex but was rebooked to a hotel on a busy street and without parking ! I could leave my car at the closed hotel Rex, but then I needed to walk to hotel Rüttli 15 minutes - not ideal in rain... Hotel Rüttli was also not very clean and dusty. Our room was overlooking a dirty courtyard... The only positive feature was a nice breakfast buffet.

Room was very noisy from trams and cars going past all hours of the night, despite my request for a quiet room. Room was very small and awkward. Ended up hitting my head on the TV and sleeping four hours.

Would Book Again!
The hotel was very easy to get to from Zurich Banhoff train station. Check-in was quick and easy. The hotel looked very new and was very clean. The room was very spacious, and was the best out of the five I stayed in during my time in Switzerland. The bathroom had a tub complete with a rubber duck! The bed was very comfortable including the pillows. The heating was adequate, and could be adjusted. The breakfast was incredible and tasty. It was a delicious spread of all different food groups. I loved learning about all the locally sourced ingredients!

A fine choice
It was fine I guess, could use a couple improvements. Stayed in a single room where the single pillow was flat, and there was only one outlet which was not big enough for multiple devices. Dust in some parts of the room and some marks on walls. Breakfast is good depending on when you get there (if it's stocked). Tram line right next to hotel is convenient, Zurich is very walkable anyways though. Overall a fine choice.

This small boutique hotel is very well run by very helpful staff. The only regret is that there are no services for an evening meal on the premises. The breakfast was excellent.
