Room in Bristol building, 2 large queen beds, no A/C so have to open metal slats that are attached to the screen window and open wooden overlay on screened door for ventilation. They provide one small fan and there is one ceiling fan. Bathroom large with separate vanity, newly updated and clean, small refrigerator in room. This building is in back of property, one level and quiet but requires a very long walk to parking, ice machine, office or food. We did not try the lodge dining for it was too pricey, the cafeteria food in evening looked terrible so we drove to Curry Village, ate one night in their cafeteria for $14, hot and decent meal, the other meal was from the Curry Village pizza and it was excellent. There is a small outdoor bar with both beer and mixed drinks available on pizza patio. Check in line was long, our receptionist was short with our questions, borderline rude and difficult to understand. There seems to be a minimal number of staff, virtually no one available to answer questions. We never saw a Ranger. The lodge is a series of dark buildings that are significantly apart. We did see a pool area that was closed. The room did not have adequate lighting, we had to remove lamp shades to simply get enough light to move around. The tv was a nice, large flat screen and the room was quite large with a sofa and a small table and 2 chairs. The outside had a private patio with 2 chairs. The location is excellent and large buses are available for transportation in the V
