"Stay at Nikko New Century Beijing, March 2014, 12"
The location was perfect to attend the Mens World Curling Championship 2014; right across the street. The staff tried to provide as much service as they could in english . The concierges were extremely helpful taking care of all our requests.
The room was very clean with a fair bathroom. I loved the blond wood finish on the floor we stayed; it did however have a number of scratches that should be taken care of.
Furniture with drawers would be much appreciated for extended stays.
A guest laundry facility coin-operated or not (washer and dryer) is a much needed amenity. The Marvel Hotel Chain provides such an amenity which we availed ourselves of with great delight.
The shops were well stocked with high quality inventory; the staff was very helpful.
The service in the Japenese restaurant was poor; waitreses neglected their duties being to busy checking their phones.

We visited China for three weeks and stayed in quite a few hotels some were 5 star. This is a gem of a hotel we were very happy during our stay. This is a personal, delightful, warm, pleasant and cosy hotel with reasonably good sized rooms and very very clean. The staff all of them were warm, helpful and friendly and we were genuinely sad to leave at the end of our stay. I would highly recommend this hotel as it was by far the nicest place we stayed in during our time in China and is placed smack bang in the middle of the Hutong's so it is a very interesting place to visit. I was very impressed by the staff on reception English names Daisy, Henry and Andy they were lovely towards us and made us very welcome and came across as genuinely warm happy in their work environment and giving and caring staff. You will need to get off at Beihai North on Line 6 if you are visiting via metro. If i had to give it marks out of ten then it would get full marks. Well done! to this lovely hotel they have got the balance just right and the breakfast was quite varied to cater for different cultures/ people too. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM PETER AND BARBARA a e i o u
2 Bedroom Suite was huge!! Very comfortable. Pool was very nice, locker rooms were very clean as well. My wife said the room service meal was so so but there are plenty of nice resaraunts close by. The hotel is connected to a huge 10 story mall so there was lot's of shopping including a convenience store.
By far the best part of the trip was shopping at "Silk Road". It is a 7 story mall with excellent quality knock-offs of every major brand. Be ready to negotiate, as I got into the swing of things you could buy stuff for 10-15% of their asking price. It is 98% cute Chinese girls who speak excellent English and they are tough, just be ready to walk away and they will give in. If I could bring them back to the US and build a sales staff with them I would be a Billionare in 2 years.
McDonalds and KFC are just a Heartbeat or Heartattack away if you need them. Great little tour company in the lobby with English speaking guides to take you to see the local sights. Beware of the "Foot Massage" place they might take you, They get you in a room while you are getting an incredible footrub and then a Chinese Herbal Doctor and a Tibeten Doctor reads your palm and offers to cure you for a few hundred bucks. This experience will rival any timeshare presentation that you may have been to.
Great hotel, great price and great location.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel, the rooms were big, and clean the staff was friendl and courteous. I especially loved the Bar( atmosphere) and the Buffet was rather enjoyable because of the variety of food available.A lady named Candy who worked in the Bar was very sweet and helpful to me, she went out of her way to assist me, and was one of the very few that could speak and understand most of what I was saying.
