Great location, ideal for a one night stay for us and our dog. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Excellent freshly cooked breakfast, highly recommended
For a 400 year old hotel the room was very well fitted out and comfortable with the bonus of sofa and two armchairs. Quiet despite town centre riverside location. Staff very helpful. Excellent evening meal of steak and chips and not overpriced. Good spot for exploring this area
Room 2 Due to age of hotel and location of windows, unable to fit a shower over bath, hand held shower head with no shower curtain so impossible to stop water going over the floor.
Lovely location great view of the river from our room. Room was lovely and clean. Hand wash and shower gel was provided and smelt lovely, good to see no single use little bottles. We arrived a little early but the room was ready so we were able to check in. We had dinner in the hotel and it was perfectly acceptable for pub grub. Outside seating area was really nice for an afternoon drink and lunch. Tasty breakfast, had the full English and there was plenty of it and freshly cooked.
The manager was ace and was very obliging, thank you. The young staff were helful but could do with a bit more genuine person reactions.... or become good actors. The room was clean, bright and very comfotable with lovely views.
Lovely spot on the river - Upton is a really nice little town, with lots of pubs and places to eat. Comfy, clean room.
Caveats: parking was easy but very limited (on no-through road), so may get tricky when town is busier. Radiator in bathroom slightly hotter than the sun - a good thing but be careful.
A lovely stopover next to the River Severn. Very welcoming hosts. Our room was very good and we had a very hearty breakfast. Additional request for preparing gluten free toast was warmly accommodated.
A lovely 400 year old hotel set in an absolutely idyllic location on the banks for the River Severn.
The landlord and staff were lovely and always up for a bit of a chat.
Great room with a really comfortable bed, a decent bath and shower.
Food was good old pub fayre and it was very nice.
We'd come back again anytime.
Very welcoming. VERY comfortable bed in good-sized room with our two dogs. Dog-friendly eating in the bar. Food menu typical good 'pub grub'. Car parking may be an issue.
I'm a solo traveller with a dog and was made to feel very comfortable and welcome. The possibilities of long walks makes it ideal - would love to go back.
Staff were very welcoming, and gave a 5* service. room has been recently refurbished and was spotless, modern and very comfortable. Didn’t want to leave!
Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that but it looked very nice when I walked past the breakfast room.
Room had a beautiful view of the river.
Will definitely stay here again. Would love to do so in the summer as perfect venue for al fresco dining by the river.
Parking can be a issue but always a spot to find nearby. Think this can be a issue wherever you stay in town.
Very comfortable stay in Upton - location right by river is fab, food pubby but sound - excellent value! Upton itself seen better days but worth a look…
The host Ralph made us welcome upon entry, showed us to our room and explained everything, great place to stay, clean and friendly.
Thanks to all at the Swan Inn.
Lovely stay, nothing too much trouble, great staff. Room quite warm and quilt too hot for late summer weather, which made sleeping a problem. Our only gripe was the quality of toilet paper!!. Not up to rest of high standards in hotel.
Luckily parked outside the hotel. Street parking is very limited.
Fantastic hosts and situated in a lovely area right next to the river.
Breakfast was exceptionally good, well cooked and presented.
Only downside was the very limited bar menu in the evening. This could be due to covid.
This is a great location staff are all extremely friendly and the food is excellent. My room at the top was spacious clean and had everything. Wifi very good.
Really pleasant, old pub with very friendly, helpful owner. Our room was a little small but had a river view and there was enough room for the dog's bed. (He was also made welcome). We had a meal in the bar which was very pleasant and welcoming with a good choice of beers.Breakfast was plentiful.
