Continental breakfast was quite spare. Milk was spoiled/sour. Only three kinds of cereal. Other than bread for toast, most food was prepackaged and/or instant packets. Apples but no bananas. Picture of waffles in breakfast area, but no waffles or hot food whatsoever. No warm water in shower first night. Shower had black spots on grout. Staff is excellent- they are helpful and responsive.

Not a bad hotel but they require a deposit so that tells you the type of clientele they cater to. The room was fine. If you can find it cheap give it a go but this isn't a 3 star hotel

We stayed at this property for 1 night. The room we were in was Room 123, the bathroom doors didn’t close all the way. The refrigerator had plastic tore off all the sides. The freezer door was off the hinge and lastly; someone cut a portion of the blackout drapes. When we went to close the blinds, you could still see in because of this and we were on the 1st floor. I had to pull another area of the blackout drape as far as it could go and put a chair against the wall to keep it in place, so no one could look in.

If you are looking for a dirty, sour-beer smelling hotel with unresponsive staff and no cleaning service for a multi-day stay, then La Quinta Winston-Salem is the place for you!

We stayed in two rooms, one smelled like sour beer and had a large dead fly smeared on the window and the other was dirty. There was no cleaning service for the second room although we stayed two nights. We had two reservations and was told prior to our stay that we could stay in the same room, but we had to check out of the first room in the morning and couldn't check in to a second room until the afternoon. The hotel had "upgraded" our first room to a king size bed, when we had reserved 2 full/queen size beds. We did not want the upgrade but there was no alternative when we arrived at the hotel, and there was no attempt to accommodate us in any other way. This is a one-star hotel with one-star service.
