We try to accommodate all our guests. Unfortunately, we are unable to give you a receipt when you pay Expedia for your room. I was trying to explain why we could not give you a receipt for your room charges. There are two ways to book through Expedia, pay at property or pay Expedia. When you pay Expedia, we are not allowed to give a receipt for room charges. Please reach out to Expedia for further explanation. Again, I apologize for any confusing. Safe Travels.

We only stayed one night and the room was pretty clean. Breakfast just ok. The only real downside is the road noise from outside was pretty loud. Staff very nice and friendly.

WONDERFUL STAFF
We stayed there because of the close proximity to UNCW. We went to the men's basketball game against Charleston. The staff was wonderful - from the desk to the sweet lady who took care of the breakfast area. The room was large and clean with a sofa to watch the NFL playoffs in comfort.

Favorite Hotel in the Area.

Enjoyed my stay at the Wingate Wilmington
I spent three nights at the hotel on a business trip. The room was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities that I needed. Everything in the room was in good working condition. Staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful. The hotel is within 15 minutes of the historic downtown and the ILM airport. I enjoyed my stay at the Wingate and hope to return again.

Thought I’d be getting a better quality stay given other’s reviews. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t live up to the 4.7 of 5. A/C unit is one of those where it gets to the programmed temp (and is cold the whole time), but turns off and you get hot until it reaches a maximum and turns on again. Breakfast, albeit free, is lacking in quality. Coffee was good. Facilities were clean. Our room had a candy wrapper and water bottle top on the floor when we arrived, and the tp holder was falling off. Staff was professional and nice enough, but not very warm and welcoming. They just did the minimum to remain average; no one went above or beyond to be courteous or helpful.
