Relaxing peaceful stay
Wildgoose Cottage was a fabulous, away from it all break. The only noise we heard was nature, cows, pheasant and lots of birds. We were lucky to see a deer with a fawn and boxing hares. This is a very relaxing place to stay but a good 45 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby either along the road or the Cleveland Way.

The cottage and its amenities are 5-star, and our stay was very relaxing. The cottage is situated in beautiful countryside very near the coastal path.

Weekend in Whitby
Absolutely loved our stay here. Wildgoose cottage is lovely and we enjoyed every minute there. Living in a terraced house on an estate it was so amazing to stay here with such beautiful surroundings. To look out of the window and see deer, rabbits, pheasants and the horses in the field at the back. The cottage is clean and comfortable and fully equipped.

Relaxing and cosy
Our short stay at wild goose cottage was very relaxing and although it was blowing a gale outside it was very cosy and warm. Everything you need is there and having no WiFi access was actually really good. I can thoroughly recommend a stay at Wildgoose cottage at anytime of the year if you’re looking to get away from it all and just relax.

Lovely Wildgoose Cottage
As a returning customer we knew what to expect. The cottage is lovely and superbly placed if you want peace and quiet. It is situated within a short walk from Whitby Abbey and Whitby Town itself if you want to count the steps down to the town. Its worth it but remember you have to walk back up them. We had a itinerary of day visits to fulfil. Don’t forget to visit the nearby Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes. We managed to fulfil them all. We cannot really fault it, there are a few very minor day to day maintenance problems, but we could live with them. All in all a great location and place to stay snd hopefully we will return again.

Great place to stay
Had a wonderful few days at Wildgoose. Easy to find using the what3words link. The house was lovely and warm when we arrived on a rather wild day in March. Clean and well equipped. So pleased with the accommodation and location. Just a few minutes walk from the coast path so a super base for walking and exploring. Really enjoyed our break and we would certainly stay again.

Fantastic - a real gem
This is our second stay at Wildgoose Cottage and won’t be our last. If you want a quiet, get-away-from-it-all location with great walks from the door look no further. The cottage has everything you need and is comfortable and warm. Good parking is also a bonus. A walk into Whitby takes around 30 minutes.

Fantastic cottage - ideal location for walking
Stayed last October and we’ve already rebooked for March 2024. The property is superb, in a beautiful location for a relaxing getaway. For colder months there’s a lovely log burner and the heating system keeps you warm whatever the weather. Our first stay was at a time when there were 50-70mph winds and rain, once in the cottage you’d never know, it felt so secure and warm. On sunnier days there’s a great small patio on which to relax with a lovely view towards the sea. You can walk into Whitby in around 30 minutes, an easy walk if you are reasonably fit. I’m fussy as to where I park my car, the car space is next to the cottage, surrounded only by nature. We are fairly tall and the ceiling upstairs is sloping so a few bumped heads but you soon get used to it, a small price to pay for such a great location and property. In our view it’s just perfect.

Cosy well equipped property off the beaten track. Very quiet . View of the sea from the bedroom. View of the fields at the back of the property where Roe deer visited us on three mornings. Costal path around the corner, can get muddy , but well worth the walk into Whitby.

Beautiful peaceful cottage
This beautiful cottage is about 2.5 miles from Whitby in a rural peaceful setting. The property is well equipped and well cared for, very clean and nicely presented. It is perfect for people who enjoy walking and is very close to the coastal path. I think it would be difficult to stay in the cottage without access to a car and the setting may be a bit rural for some but we absolutely loved it

A lovely little cottage with a lovely outlook to the sea and sometimes the neighbours cows at the fence looking back at you. The cottage is in a quiet peaceful location but only five minute drive to Whitby and all it has too offer. It is spotlessly clean, has a well-equipped kitchen, a comfortable Lounge, a very comfortable bed upstairs and ensuite with a great hot shower. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Lovely secluded cottage
We stayed for three nights in this lovely cottage. It is in a secluded spot with sea views and took us approx 30 minutes to walk into Whitby either by the quiet track and road or coastal path. The cottage is well equipped and having no wifi means you can switch off from digital life. We will definitely return.

Peaceful
A lovely property that is bigger than I first thought. A really good use of space. It was warm, clean, well-equipped and bright. We had a couple of questions on arrival and the owner responded immediately. Views of the countryside and sea depending on your choice of window. We saw wrens, sparrow hawks, Phil the pheasant, could have been a Phylis and hares aplenty. The cottage is well positioned for walks to Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby. If you want or need peace and quiet, this is ideal. It’s far enough away from the town to be secluded but close enough if required. We would definitely recommend this property.

Just what it says on the tin!
Both my wife and I could not have been more pleased with our recent stay. What was it that appealed to us initially - the lack of internet!! The occasion was a week away to celebrate my 60th Birthday and also being Xmas week it was a great way of getting us in to a chilled mood for the festive season. The directions to the cottage were spot on - very precise and easy to follow. The views from ALL the windows were spot on also. It was a cottage with a lovely 'homely' feel. we didn't do anything apart from the occasional meal out - we didn't want to. It's definitely somewhere that we will return to.
