Always a fantastic place to stay

Amazing host!
Rose went above and beyond to be accomodating to us! Great communication and easy access to property. Perfect for families with young children, great location for little walks and adventures. Clean house, comfy beds. Definitely recommend!

Very comfortable and great location for local hiking, fishing and beaches. The bach is well equiped with standard pantry items, games. Communication with owners was excellent.

We had a beautiful time here - amazing sunsets each night, the house was well equipped and the owners were great to communicate with. Great kayaking on a flat bay, and nearby to great snorkelling along smugglers bay. Thanks Rose 😊

Fantastic Quintessential Kiwi Bach
Perfect for what we wanted on our travels. Great communication and easy access. Hosts were friendly and easy to deal with. House was very clean and has been modernised to a lovely standard. It had everything a family needs and is in a great spot. Fantastic view of the water and perfect place to relax and unwind. Very close to great beaches and walks. We had a great time and highly recommend.

We have stayed in this house a couple of times, and it is always clean, warm and inviting. Opening the main curtains in the morning the view of Bream Bay is truely stunning.

Taurikura revisited
Had a wonderful stay at Rosies Retreat. Used to stay in Taurikura as a child so it was lovely to see those wonderful views again, walk the beaches, go floundering, explore Ocean Beach and even go for a mid winter swim. The house was nice and warm even though it was winter.

An excellent place for family. Plenty of room in a great location, with maneuverability and parking for a boat. Rose is easy to communicate with, and we had a great weekend, with many activities for the children. Everything one would need for a pleasant stay, and brilliant water pressure in the house was a plus. Great value for the price for anyone wanting a quiet place near the sea Hopefully use the kayaks next time Rose.

Awesome location and great house
My family and I enjoyed a fantastic week at Rose's Bach. The location was amazing and the house was spacious, with lots of features great for the kids, such as books, board games and beach gear. Rose was very helpful and has gone above and beyond in helping us receive mail we had sent to her.

Perfect Winter Escape

Amazing stay at Rose's Retreat
If this home is available, I highly recommend you booking it. The location is excellent to explore the various locations around the Whangarei Heads area (Highly recommend Mt Manaia and the walk around Busby Head and Smugglers Cove). The house was perfectly set up for a family group with two young children, with a range of games, books, and DVD's for the kids to use. We used the kayak to explore the bay at the doorstep of the house which was awesome. Internet worked well and the shower water pressure was amazing! Finally, while we never met in person, Rose was a fantastic host and we always had easy communication if needed (we didn't need to but it was great to have it just in case). If you are looking for a great place in this region, personally I don't think you need to any look further than Rose's Retreat!

Honestly we throughly enjoyed our stay, fully equipped garage of things bikes and kayaks for the kids. We played board games one night, and the kitchen was fully equipped to cook even bake. Rose you really have thought of everything!!! A home away from home. Definitely would come back to stay again

We had a wonderful two week stay. Communication with Rose was easy and friendly. If anything the bach was even better than the pictures in the listing. View amazing. Beds comfortable. Bach had everything we needed and more. Swimming within 100m of the property. We enjoyed the proximity to Ocean Beach. Teenagers loved the Adventure Park with monster scooters and mountain bikes. Handy to Whangarei for supplies. Overall a hassle free, cosy and relaxed holiday.

I stayed here a couple weeks for work working in the city centre Whangarei. Although I could of stayed mins away from work, I decided to make the 30min commute to work and back. And Boy! was it the best decision ever! Waking up to the beautiful views with coffee to start the day. Come back after work and choose from the many activities to do in the area. After a long day enjoy some dinner on the deck with a sunset. The sheltered bay is walking distance about 100metres. Perfect launch for dinghy/kayak and if your lucky water can be crystal clear, great for swimming! The fishing kayak in the shed was the cherry on top! It had an inbuilt wheel at the back so can just chuck gear in and wheel it down the road. The house really made me feel like home! Everything in the house was clean & modern so basically nothing to complain about. Lastly the host Rose & Paul, I never got to meet them in person but they seem like wonderful people! There hospitality/ communication was great and im sure everyone else will have the same experience. Thank-you and hope to visit again soon!

Amazing location - immaculate bach
We loved our stay at Rose's bach - it was extremely tidy, with wifi, DVDs and games (for a rainy weekend like ours!), comfortable beds and a big lawn. It's in a great location with an amazing view of Mount Manaia and Whangarei harbour (the photos don't quite do it justice)! We would love to come stay here again in summer. Rose was lovely and really easy to organise everything with. 10/10
