Everything was really nice, only issues were the pool being far too cold so not relaxing, only seats and no loungers.
Booked a table at reception and we even said we weren't sure so cancelled it soon after and said we would order room service. Then heard a member of staff moaning about my wife and I to another colleague saying we shouldn't be allowed to do that so that was pretty off-putting.
For those reasons I probably wouldn't return.

Beautiful foyer. Our room was old furniture very dusty and not as clean as it should be. Every piece of bedding had holes in it. Sofa mattress all marked no mattress protector on it. Not a towel for each guest. Windows very dirty. Room service arrived with food missing (not as stated on menu). 3 guests eating cutlery brought for 2 people. Not once told when booking we would be in an annex off the hotel. Very disappointed.
Was there for a wedding. But night before the wedding they closed the bar at 10:30pm and then told to leave the bar. Guests of the wedding were still arriving and couldn’t sit to great members of their families as there was no place to sit, talk (about tomorrow’s wedding) have a tea, drink or anything.
I gave the rating of staff to the manager. Quick enough
to take money for wedding but not to cater for wedding party guests that stayed over 1 or 2 nights is a really big turn off. Bad customer service!!
Cleaning staff went beyond their job to help with a dress malfunction. So thank you to the lady who helped with that.
Gave 2 stars for facilities, because of the closing of bar and then telling people to leave. Bar staff were willing to stay on! So the manager needs to go on a course for customer service. No wonder the hotel was quiet apart from the weddings that must keep it going.
Beautiful hotel and grounds.
We were upgraded to a lovely room. All areas of the hotel were clean and well maintained. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful. We would definitely return here again.
The hotel was clean and generally in good decorative condition. There was some signs of age and wear and tear in the corridors.
The food in the restaurant was excellentl. The bar food not as good quality. The staff were polite courteous and attentive.
My main concern was that after being very clear in my booking that I had a physical disabilty I was allocated a bedroom along a corridor with two sets of stairs. These were difficult to negotiate using elbows crutches. I had to to resort to crawling up the narrow stairs at bedroom No. 27. Why do they ask if you have any special requests or needs on online booking sites if they don't take them into account. When i raised this on leaving, the receptionist advised I would need to call the hotel to ensure my disabilities would be taken into account.
Stayed in the kilbride part of the hotel. Lovely room. Big doulde bed plus in the other area a sofa bed big enough for 2 people. Lovely bathroom with both bath and shower. Dinner was great as was breakfast. Plenty of choice. Will deffo return.
efficient check-in. Good sized room and comfortable bed. shower good with plenty of shampoo and shower gel. poor points were room radiator on max and took half the night to cool room down. over bath shower- drain popup didn't appear to work and popup had to be removed,(Room 45) only one toilet roll and no pen and notepad. drinks bottles left outside in hallway and not cleared away and packet of mints lying underneath tv. Attention to these little details would improve things in line with the status of this hotel
Absolutely fantastic experience at a bargain price booked through Expedia. Had this been Channel 4's 4 in a Bed, we would have overpaid! The room alone was excellent but then you add in the dining experience (we enjoyed breakfast and evening meal), the location, the onsite facilities including sauna, steam room, swimming pool, fitness suite with weights and cardiovascular equipment, all overlooking the beach, sea and mountains beyond. All facilties included in the room price, spa treatments extra. We will definitely be back.
, we asked for sheets and duvet for the pull down bed at 11.30pm as there was nothing in the room… they never came.
The dinning room bar was covered in dirty glasses….at the reception there was a staff altercation swearing at each other…. The food was bland… won’t go back… still waiting on a refund as promised by the receptionist

Some staff need to learn to treat every paying customer the same, we weren’t offered water while we browsed the menu nor did we get the ‘sea view’ seat we’d requested even though the restaurant was pretty quiet while we were there. Ir was made a big deal when I’d asked for it the night before, but the staff did say she’d put a request in🙄
As we left we were approached by manager ‘Patricia’ asking us to remind her of where we were seated!??.. did she think we’d done a dinner & dash? .. after paying £84 for a mediocre dinner🤔
Our room was clean on arrival but the next day we’d noticed the toilet roll has the triangle on the ends for decoration along with clean towels only because we’d put them in the bath, no hoovering of the room nor bed made, looked as if the quilt was thrown up as the pillows were left the same way as we’d done when we left the room.
Paying £125 for a one night stay, I expect far more than what we’d got.
Get the management to inspect the room and maybe get them cleaned properly, have a look at the dust on the lower part of the tables.
All in all, for the price it was a total let down. The waiting staff hadn’t gave us the cutlery we needed for our food which is no big deal, but are they trained these days?
It’s a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting but just needs that extra special touch , which begins with proper staff training… and a smile wouldn’t go ‘amiss!’
We were disappointed by the breakfast which had very much a "mass catering" feel to it. We didn't get a sea view from our room which was fine, not everyone can have that. But there was no sea view from the breakfast room either, so we could have been anywhere...
Went to the seamil hydro with the missus for a quiet chilled weekend, wee had an excellent stay, facilities were excellent, pool sauna, steam room, gym, food was nice, room was clean upto date and an excellent view of the sea. All an all, a really nice quiet chilled time away, wee will definitely be going back again, highly recommend,
