The property was a delightful suite located on a beautiful property. The hosts, Annette and Kerry were warm and welcoming and the cookies and muffins delicious. The suite itself had everything we needed and was spotless and very comfortable. Annette and Kerry’s garden is really lovely, and provided a serene, quiet and very private setting for our stay. It was easy to get to Mt. Taraniki for Hikes and the beaches of New Plymouth for swimming. We would highly recommend this property.

Wonderful place
We really enjoyed staying at Villa retreat. Everything was neat and tidy. Even had a personal welcome board! Annette made the place so comfortable and welcoming. We will definitely stay again.

Was a great place to stay, as it turned out I knew the owners and had some excellent talks about people we knew and grew up with. Apart from that I would recommend this as one of the best, secluded places you could wish to stay close to town.

Peaceful paradise
A beautiful little gem. Only stayed the one night but will definately book again. Annette had some delicious home baked choc chip biscuits waiting for us and a personalised welcome sign. Those little touches set this place apart from your usual motel stay. Gorgeous gardens, immaculately clean, comfortable and warm.

Lovely accommodation in a slice of heaven!
We loved every second of our Easter stay, not only great accomodation but even personalized - next level, perfectly clean, organized, private, perfectly positioned. Close driving to surfers paradise SH45 or stunning parks and waterfront walkways for non-surfers, I would say it has anything for anyone.

Sparkling and cosy
Beautiful cosy bright space, perfect to arrive at after a long day of hiking and travel. A very warm welcome, including yummy banana bread! Tea, coffee and brekky supplied. Nicely designed space with everything you need. An easy space to unwind in and enjoy all the Taranaki weather. Beautiful gardens. Great for a night or a week or more. Highly recommend.

Stay at New Plymouth
The hosts of the guest house are so friendly and have provided everything we wanted. The location was great which is only 20mins away from NP and the room was nice, warm, super clean. My husband and I quite enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back some time.

It is just like the photos, we were met by Annette and made welcome. Provisions for breakfast and biscuits - very welcome with a cup of tea after a long journey. A visit from her husband just before we left yo say good bye.Throughly enjoyed our stay. Will come again.

Lovely place to stay when visiting Waitara.
When we got there we didn't know whether to admire the studio or the grounds first. It was all fantastic. Later we met the owners and they were lovely to chat with. Would we stay there again? Absolutely.
