"Great location, terrific value for the money"
Not the fanciest hotel, but considering the price I would definitely recommend staying here. Really depends on why you're coming to Waikiki. We stayed across the street and paid double for a couple nights, and the room itself was infinitely nicer, public areas cleaner and much less crowded, more staff, etc., but we didn't really want to spend much time in the hotel room and besides using the pool, not much time at the hotel, so it was a bit of a waste for us. We did strongly prefer the less crowded pool at the more expensive hotel though. Free breakfast was actually very good with an omelette station, fruit, juices, French toast, baked goods, cereals, bacon/sausage/potatoes. Also a free happy hour with free drinks and snacks like goldfish and stuff was fun. Unless you want a fancy, more exclusive stay, this hotel was a great value in our opinion. Side note, they do make their attempts to get you to book activities through them and listen to a timeshare presentation. But it was easily avoided.

"Great place to relax for a few days."
Right in the heart of Waikiki but unless you want to search out the lively beach scene, you would not know it was there. Tranquility surrounds for a very relaxing stay.

"Great location for shops and right on the beach."
The hotel itself is lovely. It has multiple restaurants (although too expensive for our budget), shops and a spa. The spa was pricey too but that tends to be the way in Hawaii everything is more expensive there. The pool area was never packed with lots of sunbeds to go around also towels provided which is a bonus. The pool was a great temperature too. We paid a little bit extra to have a garden view because we didn't want to be facing inland. This gave us a lovely small shaded patio area with a side sea view but not the beach. Friendly staff and good entertainment.

"Relaxing week with a friend."
We are 2 friends who stayed from Tuesday to Sunday. We were attending a friend's wedding at the Kahala. We spent some time poolside, but more time at the beach. Hotel is at marina, not directly on Waikiki beach, but short walk to the beach. The main beach area is about 15 min walk. Starbucks is at nearby Hilton village and good acai bowls and juice place there. Also walked a couple blocks to cafe down the street Hiker's cafe for healthy lunch/dinner options at reasonable price. It was nice to also have a trendy lounge and club downstairs so we didn't have to go far to have a drink. I recommend running (or walking) at park down the street across from Ala Moana mall. For an hour, did a couple laps. Fitness center is decent size but quite busy. There is water and green apples. Towels of course. Iced face towels. Main pool is kind of small and there were surprisingly a lot of kids. One day all the chairs were already taken by 11 am. The adult pool is really a shallow wading pool/fountain but is quieter. If you sit poolside, they bring your free snacks- lychee sorbet, pineapple slices. There is also self serve ice water with fruit in it. Good frozen drinks. Didn't try the food but it looked good. Nice shower and bathroom. I liked the bath products- made in Pasadena, CA. My room did not have a balcony, but seemed like half of them do. Ocean and building views. Staff is really friendly and helpful. We were allowed to check out at 1 pm on our last day.

"Affordable, free WIFI & Breakfast w/no resort fees"
We stayed at the Hyatt Place Waikiki Beach hotel for 3 days and very satisfied with our experience. Hotel offers breakfast everyday and I was really surprised at the great selection of food they offered. It really helps when hotels offer breakfast especially in Hawaii were your day can start really early with all the tours it has to offer it helps to have one last thing to worry about. It is super close to the beach, just a block away and all the major public transportation (bus and trolley's) are short walking distance to get. Our room was very comfortable and clean at all times and the staff was very helpful. The lady on the activities desk which I don't remember her name but she helped us and got us good deals on 3 activities we decided on. Thank you for suggesting these memorable events for us. By far I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Waikiki especially if you want a good hotel deal and it WONT charge you RESORT FEES!!!

"Good hotel with good location."
The hotel was very nice and clean, with an outdoor pool on 10th floor. It is one short block from the beach and they provide beach towels. The only parking for the hotel is valet parking which is an extra charge per day. Plenty of places to eat and shop near by.

"Great experience"
Hotel is conveniently located for many activities on the island, including the beach, Pearl Harbor and Honolulu tours, shopping, dining, etc. and the staff was very accommodating and helpful. We did have a problem with the concierge which told us the bus pick up location for the Pearl Harbor tour had changed due to a parade (pick up time was 6 am so it seemed a bit questionable). In fact the location had not changed and we missed the bus to Pearl Harbor at 6 am. Thankfully, we were able to get on the 8:30 am tour but it significantly impacted our planned activities for our short stay.

Pocket Guide: Waikiki, Oahu Island Business Hotels

Waikiki established its reputation as a getaway when the Moana Surfrider opened its doors in 1901. Today, more than 30,000 hotel rooms are packed in the skyscrapers along the golden sands of Waikiki Beach. At the end of Waikiki, Diamond Head towers as an enduring landmark. West of Waikiki, Pearl Harbor offers a somber testament to history and the victims of World War II.
