Girls weekend
Close to stunning beach , relaxing warm and had all you could need to cater for every one. Comfy beds and close to shopping in Ōtaki or Levin. Brilliant place

Enjoyed our stay lots of room so everyone had space to do what they wanted lots of sunny areas to sit. Location fab. This is 2nd stay here lovely place to get away from it all

Nui's freedom
This trip was about celebrating a birthday but also building confidence in our young dogs. The accommodation is very dog friendly with a contained courtyard in the middle and lots of freedom outside of this to run through the dunes and onto the quiet beach. Locals are dog aware so no issues with unfriendly dogs. The accommodation is comfortable, large and welcoming. The turret at the top is a peaceful oasis to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Great place to unwind and forget about daily life for a while. Will definitely be back for another family gathering. Thank you Ronel for allowing us to enjoy your slice of heaven!

Great location and house but few maintenance and comms niggles
Beautiful location, great birdwatching and fantastic bathroom showers but the house was let down by a few maintenance issues that could easily be fixed - kitchen bin doesn’t close (smelly and attracted flies), the dishwasher drawer is missing some wheels and had no rinse aid and the master bed is old and squeaky (we were quite sleep deprived after 3 nights as it was very noisy). Communication also wasn’t great. Bookabach lists check in as 1pm but, just 24 hours before we arrived, the owner emailed to say check in was now 3pm. When I queried this and sent through a screenshot of the Bookabach page, I got no response. It really messed up our first day plans and an apology would have gone a long way. When we did arrive, the cleaner (who was still cleaning) said it had happened before so this seems to be a known issue when booking through Bookabach.

Incredible location and home

First time at Waikawa Beach
Very glad to have found this property at Waikawa Beach and spend time there with the dogs. Loved the log fireplace and the lookout chill area. Nice quiet area

Lovely large private beach house
We had a lovely relaxing stay at this great property. The perfect mid-winter escape with plenty of space for the whole family to relax and enjoy the area. Would love to stay again.

Stunning home, beachfront location
This quirky home is very well set up, warm and comfortable. Our extended family and two dogs loved it and were sad to leave. It’s a really restorative retreat.

Perfect getaway
Very lovely home lots of space for everyone to relax. Very happy to be able to takes dogs with us. Host was very responsive was a shame we had a storm while there but loved watching lightning strikes in the tower. Felt very safe and warm with the fire . Thankyou will definately recommend this place

Beautiful setting by the dunes and has a unique 'watch tower'! Lots of space and an awesome upstairs main room. Just a couple of minor points to make it super - a bigger TV screen would be great to match the big open space inside and a little bit of upkeep of the outside grounds could've but otherwise enjoyed our stay there and would recommend.

waikawa layback and chill
this was great for our family group ,kitchen was good the design of the house allowed for plenty of space to have a little bit of quiet time when needed and outdoors there were acres of lawn , sand dunes and beach to roam splash or relax. we thoroughly enjoyed the house and our stay.

Return trip to waikawa
Once again a beautiful stay at waikawa beach house, communication with owner is on point so quick in responding and nothing is a problem for them, rained two days we were up there, but beach walks and the spacious house, we all had somewhere to chill out and we lit the fire this time and it was just beautifully warm, Dogs once again had the time of their lives, so grateful the owners have opened their beautiful home to having dogs inside and out, will post pics on their FB page. Ready to book in again can’t wait to get back up there House was spotless inside and out, it really is a home away from home, thank you so much, woof, Kobe and my family look forward to going back ❤️

Poor cleanliness of property
House is huge and is it were maintained with a thorough clean would have been great. Nice tower for views. But we arrived to a dirty counter top and table. Dirt in the sink and poo in the BBQ. Left early as couldn't beat to stay longer.

This is an unexpected review and one that is quite the opposite to all of our other reviews. I am so sorry you feel you had a bad experience staying at our place. I have checked in with the cleaning team to make sure things are being kept up to scratch. I have refunded a full night stay to you as a goodwill gesture that this is simply not how we run our business.

All up, a treasure
Wild dunes and Kapiti Coast on the doorstep. Perfect beach getaway. Well appointed kitchen, comfy lounge and log burner for cold winter days. Better beds and pillows would make it a first class experience, and some fire tools would be helpful.
