Every thing you need
Osprey Heights is a lovely house with everything you need for an enjoyable quiet holiday. Close to the Harriet River, easy walk to the beach, lovely verandah to sit and enjoy the scenery with a drink & BBQ. Very clean and tidy. Host was helpful and quick to respond to any questions.

Lovely property in great area
We loved our stay at Osprey Heights. The house is wonderfully located close to the river in Vivonne Bay and to the General Store. We had a great time exploring the surrounds and the path along the river, as well as the little pier close by. We loved bird watching and met a koala in a tree right next to the property which we nicknamed Kev. Highly recommend this property, which was very comfortable and well set up. Thank you!

The property is about a 2 second drive to the corner store which was great for coffee. We enjoyed the fireplace nightly, and the walk to the beach is about 7 mins. The beds are firm, and the couches are sinking in, but the aid of cushions helped. We liked the use of wifi and Netflix after a huge days of sightseeing. The bbq out the front worked and the deck is nice with a view of the river. The place has windows in every room for exit I guess if a fire. The cupboard had spices and condiments. We enjoyed our stay and would return again.

Nicely appointed place with a well stocked kitchen. Great location! Loved the walking path along the river for spotting birds and koalas. The only regrettable thing was that the coffee pods were the wrong size for the coffee machine so we had to get real creative to have coffee! Easy fix but looking at the coffee pods we weren't the first ones to encounter this issue.

Quiet Getaway
A quiet location to wind down, beach close, Vivonne General Store only about 1km away and very walkable for food and coffee or a cleansing ale, and basic needs. Good base for seeing middle and west of Kangaroo Island.

Exquisite KI River and Beach hideaway
Tamara has created a restful and well resourced and spacious haven for enjoying the best of KI attractions. Being close to the Flinders Chase NP you will enjoy the amazing geological wonders of the Admirals Arch and the Remarkable Rocks, along with wonderful flora and flora (lots of seals). And then there is the river a stone’s throw away, and fabulous beaches with limestone outcrops contains fossils.

Perfect place to stay!
This location was perfect for our family. It gave us great access to hiking locations and outdoor activities that are away from the crowds. The house was very well equipped and super clean. We stayed in July--which is the coldest part of the year. The house was cold, so we had to start a fire to really get it warmed up. (Firewood provided---Thank you!) There was a wall heater and heated mattress pads, so that helped too. I would stay at this VRBO again!

Great place for both an adventurous and relaxing holiday
We stayed at Tamara's house for 5 days with our 2 teenage boys. It is a perfect location for adventure: close to surfing, quad biking, kayaking and sand boarding. We were even visited in the surf by seals and dolphins. But it was equally a fabulous house for relaxing together as a family. Comfy beds and lounges, heaps of games and DVD's, great balcony with a bush view. The house was super-clean and the kitchen well-equipped. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

A mixed bag
The good: The kitchen is well stocked. The beds are very comfortable. Pleasant balcony. Plenty of DVDs and Foxtel. The bad: no communication from managers until five hours befor check-in to get check-in process. Not very good given internet reception on the island is limited. The bbq was a little dirty. Some of the plastic roofing at the back of the house moves and makes banging noises all night in the wind which woke several family up several times.

Great place near the best beach
Sandwiched between the river and the best beach in Australia is this little comfy house. A great place to adventure from to the Flinders Chase National Park and every direction really. Comfy, clean, lost power a few times but think that was the whole area maybe. Rather squeezy to park when someone is occupying the block next door which is very close.

The place and location was fantastic very clean and neat, but we had a problem finding it and we were lucky the cleaner was there to let us in. We tried sending a message to the owner but couldn't get hold of the owner to get the keys. Beside that I would recommend the property to family to stay.

Great home base
We really enjoyed our stay at osprey heights at vivonne bay. It made a great home base for our trip so we could explore the bottom and west side of the island. Very close to seal bay, raptors domain, little Sahara and Flinders chase. The house had everything you needed including ample towels, blankets, fire wood, plates cutlery etc. The communication through out the booking process was prompt and flexible during covid times. Vivonne beach is stunning as well and we had some local wildlife visit such as wallabies and birds. Great for families there was plenty of games and DVDs for entertainment and electric blankets on the main beds for warmth. Would recommend and would stay again. Thanks Tammie 😊

Way more than we expected
Osprey Heights definitely exceeded our expectations in every way possible. The photos listed really don't do it justice. The location was very easy to find with their instructions and the area was as lovely and quiet as we'd hoped, giving us such a tranquil feeling. The river is literally at the end of the driveway and a few metres down a track. We actually lost track of how many fish we caught! We saw lots of wildlife around the house and surrounding area including koalas in the trees and a couple of wallaby's that hopped their way through the yard. Everything that we could think of and more was supplied including a huge selection on DVDs (for kids and adults), board games, fire wood, a well stocked pantry and cleaning cupboard, cordless vacuum and even some bait left in the freezer! The bedrooms were lovely with quality bedding that even my teenager was excited to sleep in! The matresses were very comfortable and we loved the occasional sound of possums running across the deck or roof through the night. It is central to a majority of main attractions on the Island which meant we could pack more into each day. The house itself was very well looked after (even the paint looked fresh!) and they encourage any feedback so to keep it that way. We are really going to miss those breakfasts on the deck and walks to the amazing Vivionne Bay beach! When we come back to KI we will most definitely stay at Osprey Heights again.

Loved Osprey Heights, Loved Kangaroo Island!!
Osprey Heights at Vivonne Bay was the ideal location to explore the southern side of Kangaroo Island. Short drives to Seal Bay, Little Sahara, Raptor Domain, Flinders Chase, etc.. The General Store at Vivonne Bay had excellent food - and the often suggested whiting burger really is excellent!! House is lovely in that it has that wonderful warm homey feel to it. This is no sterile hotel haha. All amenities you could need. Too cold to sit on deck to eat but sure it would be so relaxing. Loved our too short stay at Osprey Heights.

Fantastic Stay
Two friends and I stayed for 2 nights in Nov 2020. I can't thank Tammie enough for understanding when we thought at short notice we may not be able to attend due to Covid lockdown but fortunately for us this was lifted just in time so we could come. What a trrible year it has been for the island so we were thrilled to come and support them. Directions and checkin instructions fwere accurate and made our arrival simple. This was a very clean and well equipped and appointed house that made our stay really easy and relaxing. Loved the deck with BBQ and its peaceful location, even though there are neighbors you don't see them and look out over shrubbery and the river. From Vivonne bay it was any easy trip to Flinders Chase National Park and Seal Bay. i think what sets it above is the little extra touches - the ice bricks in freezer - ours had thawed on day of arrival due to 36C weather and we able to loan theirs until our refroze, icecubes ready to go for drinks, a large fridge so everything could be stored, lots of additional things like salt etc. The only thing we didnt find in kitchen was a grater but it may have been hidden and really wasnt an issue - this is just for suggestions Didnt see the goanna but a lovely dog called Lola visited and made herself at home on deck with us looking for food i think and a scratch :-) No need to phone owner thinking its lost - apparently she is just a very social dog of a local resident who loves to explore, she will find her own way home So in summary I would recommend this house and will be recommending to my friends and we will come again. Perfect for a family holiday
Osprey Heights was perfect for our family stay at Vivonne Bay. The house was immaculately clean, comfortable and had all the things we needed, plus extras like books, board games and heaps of DVD's. The instructions and communication with Tammy were spot on, and she gave helpful hints on how to find the little wooden jetty, which we really enjoyed having our early-morning coffee on. The house was really close to all the activities we had planned - swimming, cycling, quad biking and sandboarding, as well as trying the awesome whiting burger at the General Store.

A great spot in the bush
Liked the fact that it was large with a good open veranda and great view. A few leaks from the roof onto the verandah which meant you got a bit wet coming and going. We arrived early and were happy to go off and come back later. The clean of the place did go on well after check in time. Not a major issue as owners mum was friendly and I had met her but some people may have been a bit put off. Wood for fire pretty green which led to alarm going off. Overall however we enjoyed our stay and house had all you needed.

The fire box/cold
Fire box & flue is dangerous, doesn't stay alight, no firelighters, paper, kindling. I had to buy 4 X newspapers & firelighters, the glass door wasn't clean. It was cold. I had no electric blanket, no beside lamp. Couldn't put the key away safely in key box...too high up

Hi Rosalyn, I'm sorry for these issues. We do encourage our guests to reach out to us if having any issues so we can help while you are there. We have had a big working bee in August and added in bedding (electric blanket to the room where one had broken), added in new lamps and furniture etc. We do leave fire wood and firelighters for guests generally so I apologise that this was missed. I hope you enjoyed your time at Vivonne Bay.

Comfortable place in a great location
Quiet and comfortable home with everything we needed for a great weekend away with my elderly father. Easy drive to the beach, river or jetty for fishing, well equipped kitchen and Foxtel movies for the evenings. We had a great time and will be back for another stay next year.

Our little family stayed here for 3 nights and we all enjoyed it. The location was so quite and peaceful. The verandah had beautiful views over the bush and down over the river. The fire was treat at night time and plenty of wood was supplied. We had two small kids with us and it gave them plenty of room to spread and relax after a day of exploring. There were plenty of board games to keep them entertained. The beach was a short drive or walk and it was beautiful when the wind died down. The only addition I would suggest to the owners is the inclusion of a couple of microwave dishes. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

We had a really relaxing 3 nights staying at Osprey Heights. The accommodation was clean, the beds comfortable and the owner clearly went to a lot of trouble to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The Foxtel coverage kept us entertained through an afternoon of thunderstorms and the undercover outdoor area was lovely for evening meals. I'd certainly recommend the place and would be more than happy to stay there again next time I head over to KI.
