The Driftwood Resort is an absolute gem. The property is beautiful and the staff is excellent. The gentleman that checked us in couldn’t have been nicer. All of the staff and the restaurant onsite were outstanding as well. What a great vacationing place.

Extremely dated but in a fun and kitschy way. Staff was incredibly laid back and kind. Very much an old beach resort vibe.

i didn't know what to expect when we arrived but once we entered the room we were surprised at how nice it was in the room and around the property. They have two pools - one by the restaurant and one for families that want quiet time.

I loved the beach front room we upgraded to for a small price. I had never stayed beach front and the sound of the waves and our balcony was better than going out! The stairs became a bit much after a while but hey, I'm young enough to climb them so not much of a dislike.

My family has stayed at this property in previous years and had a good experience, but not this time. We were put in a very strange location and the room was very dirty. If we walked on the floor without shoes or socks our feet would turn black. Also, we saw and killed multiple cockroaches during our stay which is disgusting. The restaurant wasn't always open or serving food when they were supposed to be which was inconvenient. There were no chairs or tables by the pool to use. We will not be staying here again.

I am very sorry the room was not cleaned properly. The room you were in was a full one bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms and full kitchen, a much bigger room than the studio unit that was reserved, but there is no excuse for it not to be cleaned properly. The restaurant hours were modified by a couple of hours on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day so that the staff could also enjoy the holiday at least partially, I'm sorry if it caused issues for you. There are chaise lounges at both pools so I'm not sure why you state there weren't any. I hope you change your mind and stay with us again.

Great location on the beach!
Fantastic location on the beach. Close to restaurants and shopping. Staff are friendly and always helpful. The room was comfortable with a great view. We will definitely return.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff
Nice rooms very spacious. The kitchen is a nice added touch. The beach, the pools, and they don’t break the bank. Friendly staff. I called about early check in and they were very nice said they would have it ready as soon as the people check out. We checked in and went for lunch. By the time lunch was over at 1:30 our room was ready. Highly recommend this resort.

We overall enjoyed our stay at this classic and historic resort. Common areas and privaye beach were nice and maintained. It being a bit older the room did have a bit of a musty smell. Additionally, there were sugar ants in the kitchen area of our room. We know these are quite common in Florida and besides being a small nuisance, it didn't bother us too much. We would come back and would recommend!

Amazing Resort
You cannot beat the combination or location price and quality. I won’t stay anywhere else again when in Vero. The on site restaurant is fantastic as well (Waldos)

Loved the property! Very clean. Room was ok but very clean. Planned on eating at the onsite restaurant however found out it was closed on Thursday which was when we were there. One night stay. Ate there on Friday and the food was very good. Was sad they didn't have chairs on the beach, however it was a beautiful place. Would go back again.

Can't be beat for the area
My aunt & I have been patrons of Waldo's for years & decided to treat ourselves to a stay at the Driftwood Inn that surrounds our favorite spot in Vero Beach. We were not disappointed. I think the majority of the rooms has some view of the ocean & we made good use of our chairs in our patio area to enjoy our view. The room was cozy and had a dining nook, well equipped kichen and separate sleeping & living room. The sleeping area included pocket doors to allow for additional privacy. The shower was wonderfully hot. I would stay again without hesitation. It's right on the Vero Beach strip with lots of shopping and restaurants. I recommend Waldo's for lunch or dinner and across the street is the Lemon Tree for breakfast or lunch.

Head a great stay. Location was perfect. Service was professional. Food service was slow, but expected with the crowd. Overall, a great experience. Will be the first place I look when booking in Vero again.

Charming, but a few warts.
The property is older and on the national Historic Registry. It is well kept and maintained. Our room was spacious and had a kitchenette, small bedroom area, and a seating area. The kitchenette came stocked with towels, dishes, silverware, a full size coffee maker, and even dishwashing soap. Check in is at 4 pm and she. We arrived we still had to wait over an hour because our room wasn’t ready. The room was moderately cool but still a little muggy and sticky. The little window AC unit ran all the time but the wasn’t very cold. Be warned check out is 10 am and they appear to be militant about it. They called us at 9 am to remind us to be out of there by 10 am. Parking was nearly impossible and extremely tight. They appear to have a very popular pool side bar that many of the locals come to and they take up much of the parking. At the time of this writing Covid is still a thing and almost. No one except the staff and handful of guests were wearing masks. It was a bit unnerving. There is lots of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The main pool is very popular and the drinks during happy hour are very reasonable. There is a second pool that is larger and much quieter if that is more your speed. We had mixed reviews about our stay and my wife wants to give it another shot. I am on the fence. Overall the property was very charming but things like tight parking can’t be fixed. Things like having your room ready should’ve been fixed.

I'm sorry you had to wait for your room to be ready, this is the busiest time of the year and because of COVID it does take longer than normal to clean the rooms. Our check out times on Friday and Saturday are firm at 10AM because of the heavy load of check outs and check ins on those days. Other days of the week check out is at Noon. Although I don't mind the quirky decor at The Driftwood, my room had a definite mildew odor. The room was fairly clean, but tired. Wall air conditioner kept waking me up at night, and every now and then, a strong smell of cigarette smoke filled the room, maybe from a common vent somewhere. It was also a bummer that there were no free beach chairs or pool/beach towels for use. Most people brought their own, but as I flew, I was out of luck. Despite some of its charms, I would not stay here again.

I'm very sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. The cigarette smoke most likely came from outside as you don't have shared vents in the room but the air conditioner can pull that into the room if someone is smoking near by. We do have pool and beach towels available for free at the front desk. They can be exchanged as often as you want. Hopefully you will change your mind and return sometime.
