The hotel itself was OK. The locked front door for the lobby( you have to ring doorbell and be buzzed in) was a definite red flag. As a female tourist, I did not feel safe on the streets unless my husband was with me. The hotel is only half a mile from the Mestre train station which was a plus. The hotel does not have an elevator so we had to schlep our very heavy suitcases up to the second floor. The minuscule shower was present, I guess thats a European thing. By American standards the room was also tiny. But the staff was very helpful, the buffet breakfast was wonderful, and the coffee was, as always, amazing. The bus stop for a 15 minute ride over to the Grand Canal in Venice is very close so the value of the hotel stay, in my opinion, offset the inconvenience. Limited dining in the area.
So depending on your budget and your preferences, it was a good value.
