I chose this hotel based on your description, that is misleading. The location is not Varna or Golden Sands, it is somewhere in between( 13 km away from Varna) There are two hotels called Magnolia 1 and Magnolia 2 and it is not clear who gets what hotel. Both hotels are "all inclusive", and you cannot get a la carte meals or decent coffees. The private beach charges for sunbeds and parasols. The pools are not attractive and again, the all inclusive bars dont allow choice for non all inclusive clients. The four stars are an ambitious self perception of rather poor service. English is not much used by staff. All in one, it is the kind of place where you dont want to go back.

On arrival to this hotel we experienced an easy check in. When we reached our room we found our keycard did not actually work so had to use a manual key.
The room was clean and tidy and had a nice view of the sea from the balcony but the heating in the room did not work which meant it was freezing. Other members of our group next door to us also did not have heating that worked and their hair dryer in the bathroom also did NOT work. It seems nothing really works in this hotel.
The third time we ate at the hotel ship restaurant the waiter at breakfast brought out the complete wrong meals that were asked for but we said nothing and just ate it.
On the evening, we ordered food and pointed to the menu; an hour and a half later the food arrived in drips and drabs without any cutlery on our tables. There was dishes missing, and most people got food that they did not actually order. To top it all, the food was stone cold and they were not doing anything to solve the problem.
We left and went to reception to complain where we were told we had to pay the bill even though the food was not consumed. The ship manageress was very resistive and rude. We agreed to pay drinks but not food SO THEY HELD ONE OF OUR PASSPORTS AND SAID THEY WOULD NOT GIVE IT BACK UNTILL THE FULL BILL WAS PAID! I rang Expedia and they immediately spoke to the hotel and I got the passport back straight away.
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS HOTEL. MANAGEMENT IS SHOCKING AND IT IS NOT WORTH ALL THE EFFORT!!!!!!
They were working on the hotel and during breakfast we were listening to machines chip up tiles which was not very relaxing to say the least. The spa services were nice and reasonably priced. It was a beautiful location and over all a pleasant stay.
I was very impressed with Melia Grand Hermitage. The hotel offers very good conditions, the rooms are spacios and clean, woderful beds, and big bathrooms. Breakfast was very good and i recommend Level upgrade for the peopole who wanna spend a bit more money for a more luxurios holiday. This hotel has made our stay more enjoyable so it is highly recommneded. All my family loved it!

Loved this hotel. Felt like home. Great design, great pool (there's an outdoor one and an indoor one), and the staff was super friendly. Had a couple of issues but they were small:
Food was the same everyday and a little variety would have been nice, the bathtub in the room could have been larger, and the bartender looked like he didn't want to be there at all. Also, the lights in the room, while they were a nice yellow color, could have been brighter or adjustable, as there were times when I couldn't see anything in the room at night. I would also have loved strong WIFI in the hotel but it was largely only available in the lobby.
But overall, it was a superb experience and I would suggest it over any of the larger hotels closer to the beach. It was snuggled a small distance from the beach, which I appreciated, and the design of the hotel was super nice. Give it a try!
2 single 45 year old guys. went 21 sept for 1 week. hotel ok. resort - Eastbourne.2 gys looking for sun (was ok nice beach) nice food (both chefs found some good places- basically don't go to the really cheap or quiet places. follow the germans). a good drink- very cheap normally paid 3-4 lev (1.10-1.35) a pint in good bars. it's very quiet this time of year go out around town and you will end up back at the muppet bar - the liveliest place.looking for a little "romance" go during the season there are only couples & young germans at this time. taxi's get to varna for about 20 lev. pretend you are getting the bus they will drop their prices. always agree a price first or they will rip you off. varna- half price for food & beer-forget clothes unless you want to pay london prices to look like huggie bear.prostitutes- say no they go away. very funny some only know one word.(sex). not hundreds of them either its not a problem. single guys watch the gypsies they want to go for a drink for you & "make love to you" they will drug you and rob you. all in all not a bad place but really has no more to offer than the spanish resorts apart from it's cheap
