Perfect Location!
This hotel is perfectly suitable for a stay in Uppsala. It is not fancy, a bit strange in it's layout, but has a comfortable lobby and breakfast room. It is also attached to a pub, with good beer and great French fries! We stayed here the night before we left Uppsala. We had lived in an apartment outside town for 5 months while my husband coached the American Football team. We were very familiar with the town and chose this hotel for it's location ....its close proximity to the train/bus station and restaurants on our last night. We were not disappointed!

The only 'downer' was the lack of parking arrangements with the carpark in the basement - became expensive and was limiting in its operational hours.

It gave us everything we needed
We arrived in the small hours, tired after a long journey, but everything was made very easy for us: car parking right under the hotel, a good welcome, all questions answered, rooms exactly as we had hoped. A beautiful breakfast with a vast range of food, whether you wanted to remain English or become Swedish. The hotel is very well situated for the centre of town, both the shops and the interesting places. No hassle about our not being quite out of the rooms by the required deadline. Lovely, helpful cleaners. Much recommended.

Comfortable base for our stay in Upsalla
Quite conformable stay, this motel is reasonably priced and very central to shops, restaurants and tourist sites. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We would certainly stay there again, the rooms are not flash but covered our needs. A double bed would have been slightly better than two joined singles.

Very expensive, does not justify price
Slow internet. I couldn't do any work through it, and had to give up. Shared ironing board for the floor, you do not get one in your room. Rooms are spartan with very little furniture. Chair for desk was very uncomfortable - luckily the internet connection was so slow that I didn't have to sit in it very long. Most expensive hotel in Uppsala, so I expected much more. Was very disappointed. Will never use again if I have a choice. Expected a double bed, but since the hotel was fully booked and this was the only room I could book in Uppsala I stuck it out. There isn't enough space downstairs for seating at breakfast so you have to share tables and eat in the reception. If you can get up late and wait till everyone has left for work then you'll probably not notice.

Good hotel stay with reasonable price
Size of room was reasonable, bed was comfortable. Wonderful breakfast, good variety of juices, hams and fruits. Wifi was not reliable in room further away to the end of hotel. Reception staff acknowledged and offered change of room. Location is good, able to walk around town easily.

Comfortable hotel, located centrally
A stay of three nights was comfortable and pleasant. Rooms were clean, fairly spacious and had all the facilities we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was exceptionally good with a wide selection of food and beverages. I would happily stay there again.

I liked the convenience and location of the hotel -- the staff was always courteous, too. I was glad to be able to stay there for two weeks and feel that I was safe as well.

It wasn't great. Staff were unfriendly, and looked like they had lost passion for their jobs a long time ago. Room was ok, but nothing special. This hotel should be 2.5 stars / 5 at best, not 3. 2/10 wouldnotstayagain

Great location in downtown
The hotel is easy to find on the GPS, and checkin was fast and easy. Parking is easy around the corner, but not free. 140 SEK per day, with in and out privileges. The room was large, comfortable beds, very clean in bathroom and elsewhere. Our room even had a microwave as well as a small refrigerator and water heater. Even so, I had to ding them one point on service because of two concerns: the internet is hard to log into, but the front desk clerk was very helpful. The other concern was that the sill on the window was quite low, so children can quite easily climb up and out. It didn't happen but I could see it being a concern if you have children and are on the first European floor or higher.

Pleasant and Functional
This hotel is situated well, near the edge of the city center, a pleasant walk away from the main train station and a block from the pedestrian zone. Everything about the hotel was pleasant but unexceptional. This includes the breakfast, which was decent but could have had slightly more options (but I don't have enough experience in Sweden to know whether this is the norm). Staff were pleasant too. Even though nothing blew me away, it was a good quality for a good price: I liked it enough that I am booking to stay there again.

Very well located near the central station and major bus lines, pleasant short walk to Uppsala University and library. The free breakfast was surprisingly good. The staff was attentive though some times it took a while to be served because the hotel was full and people were in line. The room was clean and very spacious, though minimal in style. Would recommend.

Affordable, well located for city.
I stayed here to attend a conference at Polacksbacken. It is too far away from Polacksbacken. It took about 30 minutes to walk there each day. However, it is perfectly located for a trip to the city. It's only about 5-10 minutes walk from the train station and main bus stop, is one street over from the main high streets (there seem to be two next to each other), and is only 5 minutes walk from the beautiful river which splits the city. Check in was a breeze. WiFi was a little ridiculous (you have to ask reception for a code for each device), though once you're logged on it was good. My room was huge, but the bed was tiny which is a shame. Good desk, plenty of plug sockets, a TV to watch the World Cup and a pretty comfortable arm chair. Bathroom was fine, with a good shower.

Nice hotel, easy to find in the centre of the city
This was our third stay at this hotel. It was easy to access by taxi from the airport. Although we arrived ahead of the check-in time, the staff looked and found two rooms ready for occupancy. The staff at the desk were invariably helpful and the breakfast is substantial. The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. The single drawback would be the rooms on the main road side of the building can be noisy if the window is left open over-night. In the summer this can be a difficult choice when there is no air conditioning. Overall, we will plan to book there again for our next trip to Uppsala

Mostly satisfied for a week long stay
We were in town for a conference that took place in Stockholm, but Uppsala has a soft spot in our hearts because we lived there for a year a while back. As such, when we come to Sweden, we try to stay in Uppsala. This hotel has quite a nice breakfast, which is served almost until noon on the weekends (ideal!). The room was great, mostly. Watch out for the internet blocking sites that stream video of any sort (frustrating for us who wanted to see something on YouTube), but it is free for the duration of your stay. The beds were also a bit soft for our taste. That being said, we got what we were looking for in a week-long stay: close to places we love, close to Uppsala C.

Honeymoon
We loved the Hotel Uppsala. It was the off-season so they upgraded us to a suite since it was our honeymoon. The room was clean. The breakfast food was fresh, and the eating area bright and open. The hotel was conveniently located for us. We could easily walk to the Linnaeus museum, the restaurants along the river, and with our luggage to the bus station.

Outstanding stay.
I was in Uppsala for three nights to photograph a friend's wedding. Every place I went was walkable, safe, and inspiring for photography. Many shopping and food options close by. Uppsala had a nice relaxed feel to it with amazing architecture. A great break from Stockholm's crowds.

Beautiful location in Uppsala, good service
Hotel Uppsala is a just a five minute walk from most of the downtown attractions in Uppsala - the river, Linne Museum, cathedral, shops, etc. The bus service is right out front and very efficient. The trail along the river is amazing. We saw it in summer with everything in bloom and on Saturday with small stalls operated by individuals along the river trail selling homemade pastries and homegrown vegetables.

Best bathtub
When I arrived to check in, they informed me my room was not ready yet. After expressing dismay for having travelled 35 hours, and was looking forward to a shower, they immediately re-arranged their bookings, and upgraded me to a better room. Upon getting to my room, I was in heaven when I discovered the giant, neck deep claw foot bathtub! It was hard to leave my room after that. The road noise was pretty loud, but the service was excellent!

Very convenient central hotel
This was our second visit to a central hotel with a generally pleasing atmosphere. The staff are very helpful at the desk with excellent English! The breakfast is plentiful and covers a wide spectrum of tastes. The absence of air conditioning means that a balance has to be struck between fresh air in the warm weather and the street noise early in the morning that can be a bit intrusive. We will stay again when we are next in Uppsala, but will try for an inside room next time.

the hotel is value for money, the rooms are exactly what they say, you could not say the hotel is fantastic and you could not say the hotel is poor, its a good clean hotel with a bar that is connected to it which has a great selection of beer and spirits and the food id good value for money, if i was in the area again i would have no hesitation to book this hotel again,
