Wonderful staff and a fantastic place to stay. I'd recommend it as a get away stop for an afternoon/evening. Quite close to the Uffington White Horse for an afternoon hike. Food was fantastic in the comfortable little garden seating out back. Will return.
Booked due to it being a convenient location to a party I was attending and it was the most relaxing time I have had in ages. I loved the charm mixed with modern touches. Beautiful room, gorgeous scenery. I stayed two nights but it felt so much longer.Thank you.

"Very nice pub with B&B in a lovely country village"
We enjoyed our stay very much, breakfast was very good ordered the night before , very comfortable room & very clean, we felt very welcome and at home good selection of meals for evening.Pub set in very nice village .
I enjoyed staying at the Red Lion - it was not my original hotel but since mine burnt down it seemed a good and financially viable alternative option. In the centre of Faringdon, there are plenty of cash points/restaurants/shops nearby, while the staff were helpful and supportive when necessary. Breakfast was simple but pleasant and the pub itself seemed nice and welcoming. The room was tidy and clean, the bed re-made in the day, and tea and coffee was provided.
On the negative side, I found it somewhat difficult to sleep because of an incessant buzzing from what I can only assume was a boiler or something near the front of the B&B accommodation, which was audible even when down the corridor with my door closed, and could be slightly heard with the TV on. I don't know if there's a solution but you might want to bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper (as I am). I would also recommend that they leave soap on the sink in the bathroom!
Apart from those pernickety issues, I enjoyed my stay and (if the buzzing is addressed!) would happily stay again.
We were greeted by Nicola, the Joint Manager, who had only moved in from a hotel in the same group a couple of days earlier. The room was found through winding corridors was pleasant and clean. The light over the wash-basin was not working but in the adjacent shower there was good lighting. Ample very hot water and this room (6) had a glazed fire-door to the fire escape but no other window. Comfortable bed with crisp linen. First class flat screen TV and ample wardrobe space with sufficient hangers. Breakfast was superb with high quality bacon and sausages, sourced from local butcher.

It may not look much from the outside, but the rooms are very comfortable, modern and well furnished. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts are delicious. Very convenient position. Highly recommended.
Well equipped rooms set away from the main house with outside seating to enjoy the lovely garden. The owners are friendly and really made us feel welcome. Fantastic breakfasts with lots of choice, freshly laid eggs and honey from their bees too! We'll be back.
