Mixed review terrible to excellent - initially put into the ground floor wing near the tennis court which was obvious at some point had water damage because the entire wing strongly smelt of mould. By midnight I was wheezing with an allergic reaction, called reception and within 15 minutes was upgraded to a suite & free breakfast for the duration of my stay (estimated $500 in value). Once moved the room was excellent & on par with what I had paid. So I must praise the staff for a quick & great value resolution BUT it’s not ideal to be putting guests in mouldy rooms for health reasons which could have resulted in an ambulance visit and legal ramifications. Nowhere else in the very large resort smelt of mould I might add, only the ground floor right wing.

For the price that I paid it was VERY below average. NO SERVICE ROOM AT ALL ROOM CARPET VERY OLD BATHROOM SMELL BAD WHEN I CHECKED IN ELEVATOR VERY DIRTY NOT CLEANED I PAID EXTRA $60 FOR POOL VIEWS WHICH EXPEDIA DID NOT ADVISE ON THEIR WEBSITE ASKED FOR SOFTER PILLOWS NEVER DELIVERED I WILL NOT RECOMMEND TO STAY ON THIS MANTRA TO NO ONE VERY DISAPPOINTED

Great property within the Salt complex in Kingscliff. We had a 2 bedroom dual key room which was great with 4 adults. The rooms were clean , living are a bit small however it had a balcony with extra chairs and tables. There was secure parking as well as plenty of off street parking, great pool, walking distance to beach,restaurants and shops. Staff were fantastic . We utilised the nearby bike and walking paths into Kingscliff town centre, tennis courts and pool. Would recommend

The room was a bit Moldy smelling, first night fire alarm went off, second night fire alarm went twice off a bit traumatic when you are asleep and been woken up for nothing, to be fair they gave us another room so that was great, loved loved the pool and will come back.

On the second night of our stay the fire alarm went off at around 1:45 am. We collected our stuff and went down to the reception. The fire engine was already at the entrance. Staff said it's false alarm so we went back to sleep. At 4 am, the fire alarm went off again. We went to the reception the second time. Staff said it's false alarm again. We were on business trip and had to drive the whole day across two states every day. Our sleep was terribly disturbed because of the 2 false fire alarms. Just wonder if the hotel will offer us some compensation.

Great location,
Mantra on Salt Beach is a great resort. Lovely pool and being mid week it was not crowded. Easy walk over to the beach which has lovely soft sand. Our one bedroom apartment was spacious and clean. The only downside was that it was on the edge of the resort and there was construction next door. Also, the bar was not open for the two days we were there, we would have liked a drink by the pool. The fire alarm went off twice during our second night with a warning message to wait for instructions- which never came, this disrupted our sleep. We enjoyed the choice of restaurants in the village.

We really enjoyed our stay, defiantly recommended to others who are considering staying here. Very central, had everything you needed within walking distance. The hotel itself was very quiet which made the stay relaxing

Arrived at reservation desk, was delayed due to staff query on room. Arrived to our room to find not cleaned and rubbish still on benchtop. Notified reception and 30 minutes later cleaner arrived and had to ask what issue was, they were shocked at condition but didn't give a apology - they only vacuum the floor without wiping bench, kitchen appliances. Later that night when we got back to room and unpacking, the bedroom draws still had pervious guests clothes. Notified reception and it took 7.5hr for them to come collect. As we were handling keys back on last day, we notified reception of our poor treatment all they could do was offer free coffee or free breakfast. Not impressed with service or accommodation standards.

Not a good experience
Stayed for 5 nights in a 1 BR and was given an apartment that was designed for wheel chair accessible persons. The shower was open and floor was always wet. We had to use extra towels to dry the floor in order to use the toilet which was broken on arrival. Bathroom was well below expectation for us and we couldn’t wait to leave. Was promised a 10% refund but this turned out to be a lie. Other negatives No housekeeping for 5 night stay No AC in the reception area. Carpet in the hallways was dirty and mouldy. Sections of the underground car park were oppressive. Positives Salt beach is excellent. Life guards are friendly. Hotel provided extra towels.

The suite we had was clean but very dated and in need of a refurb. We were very surprised to learn that you had to pay for WiFi and that we had to go across the Rd to another location for breakfast. The outdoor areas pool etc were very nice with lots of sun loungers.

Don't bother!
We have stayed at Peppers and Salt many times before but this time we really noticed how old and unclean Mantra on Salt has become. The price was exorbitant at $350pn, the assistant manager on check in was rude and abrupt, the room was old, very dirty and very dated. Our sheets were stained and the bed cover was so old and revolting that I did not want to even touch it! The pool and surrounds are also now very dated and don't have the facilities that other resorts in Kingscliff offer for similar or better prices. We won't stay here again.

The pool and location are fantastic but for the nightly price the rooms are very tired and in need of an upgrade, our room was also quite dirty and looked as though the floors had not been cleaned at all. We had a spa room and the spa bath did not work and wifi was not included

Location is good. Nice to note that the buildings didnt dominate the landscape once i was on the beach. The layout/footprint aided easy access to rooms, i.e. not everyone used the same ekevator.
