Hi Hugh, We are off course terribly sorry your equipment was taken while staying here. It is the first time in our 4+ years of ownership something has ever gone missing. But, what your forgot to mention was you left your fishing gear in a plastic box outside the cottage while you went fishing. This is not good practice regardless of where you stay. My advice to you would be: do not leave items visible in your car and do not leave your fishing gear on the front porch or your accommodation. Never in Turangi ... never anywhere if you want to guarantee they will be there when you get back! Our property has river access - via a short track - for the benefit of our fishermen and the front access - the driveway - is for all guests to access the property. There is not free access through the property and walk throughs are not encouraged at all and we will certainly deal with trespassers if we see them. Those that steal generally do so without making themselves known to those they are stealing from. We are looking forward to getting the fishing pole you forgot to pack, and which you also assumed that was stolen, back safely to you. Finally, yes we are offended by your rating of us and by your comments. Kind Regards
