"We stopped at the Pine Marten for 2 nights. The hotel is in a very convenient spot and was well located for us. Our room was fine - clean and comfortable with all the basic facilities necessary. Check in and check out was easy. We had a ground floor room with level access. The staff at the hotel and associated pub were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great and they were very keen to make sure that my food allergies were catered for. A good hotel 👍"

"Friendly staff, terrific breakfast, comfortable cosy room but can get warm and the cold shower didn't work. Bus to Edinburgh city centre will take about 45 minutes. Lovely place, would stay there again."

"What a gem! This hotel has everything and is located in the heart of the Royal Mile. Monica was so helpful when we checked in after a long travel day and took great care of us when we had breakfast and checked out. The beds were so comfortable, the bathroom felt like a spa and having a drink and dinner right downstairs was a bonus. My daughter and I were able to take in all the sights of the Royal Mile and enjoy the luxury of our room after a long day. Thank you for an enjoyable visit!"

"This little Inn is full of charm and character, in a beautiful, quiet setting along a canal. The staff (in the hotel as well as the restaurant) was incredibly warm and helpful. Accommodations were clean and comfortable, and the food was spectacular. This was a great stay."

"Right off bus stop. 2£ each way. If you want to enjoy the experience of mass transit while saving some bucks on a nice hotel room this is the place. Could use some fresh paint, but you can't beat the value. Ate breakfast one morning. Talk about good food and EXCELLENT service!!! Had roast on Sunday more than enough to feed two as my wife didn't care for the soup. Very nice staff. Expecting 5 star hotel? Pay 5 star rates. Bed was extremely comfortable. "

"Very friendly staff. Clean room. Big fluffy towels. Quiet area. Beautiful area. If i had to pick at anything its to keep the coffee, milk etc stocked each day rather than having to ask for it. But overall loved our stay and would definitely stay again without hesitation. "

"Great place as a base for exploring the Borders. Overall stay was good. Room was exceptionally clean(had a couple of minor niggles but these were dealt with happily and swiftly). Stayed in a double which was quite small (with only one bedside table). Would 'upgrade' to a larger room if staying again. The best thing about this hotel is the people and the outstanding service they provide-nothing too much trouble and so friendly. Ooh- and good food including a fab breakfast. "

"Great view from windows. Comfortable beds. Well appointed en-suite but could benefit from hand hold in shower. Also plumbing was very noisy. Very helpful staff and beautiful sitting are on ground floor. Over all a lovely place to stay and very close to historic and interesting places to visit and many good places to eat. "
