Nice hotel , very good receptionist who spoke good English.
No air con ,so had to open bedroom window which faced road overlooking a Boulangerie ,which was rather noisy in the early morning, as people pulled up to collect their bread.
Ate in restaurant both nights , food excellent , service good on first night BUT the lady in charge on our second night was most rude. When we asked for a jug of tap water (which the waiter gave us the first night ) she said " We do not have a tap in the restaurant " The same thing happened to the young couple on the table beside us. She was clearly trying to increase sales of bottled water ....that practice stopped 10 years ago.
A disappointing part of a nice hotel , she should be given a job that does not involve meeting the public........like filling up jugs of water for the waiters !
delightful manager who was extremely pleasant and helpful.
breakfast very basic but was not expensive
room was tiny but as comfortable as it could be given it's sizether rooms were larger
wooden spiral staircase may be a problem for some guests

Charming little chateau on the outskirts of Chinon, beautiful grounds and rural setting. attentive friendly staff, almost all who spoke enough English that my lack of French was not an issue. Fabulous 5 star resturant, easily our best meal in France.

I had stayed here about 20 years ago. This time we stayed in on of the petit rooms which was more than adequate for the two of us. The staff was very accommodating with helping with dinner reservations since the chateau was totally booked for the next two nights. We had great Dionne's in Amboise. A table opened up due to a cancelation our second night. We had an excellent dinner with very attentive service.

We stayed for two nights in June 2014 while visiting chateaux of the Loire Valley. The hotel is neat, comfortable and good value for money. We arrived late and were provided with room service. We enjoyed the cute breakfast room appreciated the free off-street parking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A very good base for touring the Loire. Decent walk into town for dinner so we drove.

We only stayed for one night and it was a very welcome break after a short ferry crossing and a long drive. A wonderful smell of flowers as we went in. Our room was a good size with an enormous bathroom and all the little extras you would expect from this class of hotel. The bed was VERY comfortable and after a necessary sleep we went down for dinner Drinks outside in a delightful courtyard with delicious canapes. Dinner was excellent as was the service which is attentive without being intrusive. A good night's sleep and we were on our way.

My husband and I stayed at the chateau for 2 nights. It was a perfect place to explore the Loire Valley by car. The hotel and the setting is beautiful. It feels very authentic and a step back in time. We had the 3 course dinner there both nights and it was absolutely delicious! The owner of the hotel - Erik - was lovely and took time to show us the chapel and have a chat. The lady at the front desk and the waiter were also very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying at the chateau.
