Lovely cottage
Loved the cottage overlooking the lake and autumn trees. It is a beautiful arboretum. Cottage is great; beds are very warm and comfortable, lovely views from the kitchen and lounge, very quiet and private. Need to take food. Well-equipped kitchen.

Stunning Stay
Such a gorgeous stay and communication with the managers was fantastic! We arrived very late due to our maps failing us, and we were able to stay an extra hour the next morning :)

Overall nice place to stay. Happy with the ammenities it’s quite basic and outdated but suits the environment it’s in, being lakeside and rural. Only thing was it was very hard to get to with the surrounding roads being gravel and was hard to find in the dark as the grass path off the hill was overgrown. We got lost finding it and since there was no reception we couldn’t message the host or call them so had to ask the neighbours. Unsure if we would stay here again as was quite stressful to find and wasn’t the most affordable. But for an off the grid retreat it is amazing and would recommend it for anyone looking for peace and quietness.

Thank you for your feedback. As stated in the booking the roads have been affected by current weather events. The signs to the accommodation are well marked. The neighbours property is our home as we live on site. When you go rural you have to expect rural roads. Thank you for booking our accommodation.

Loved it!
We loved this property. View was better then we thought. House was very clean and there was wifi. They provided towels blankets etc. The entire stay was amazing and I definitely recommend if your due for a relax, the area itself is one with nature so beautiful and relaxing. The hosts were great with communication and thorough. Definitely recommend.

The property is brilliant. Communication with owners was terrible. We had to leave early because of a medical emergency. We informed the owners & never got a response back. Knocked on doors but no one was home & no phone reception meant we couldn't ring. We emailed instead but got no reply other than a message saying they hoped we were enjoying our stay & that they were sorry they had been unable to meet as at the time of the email - about halfway through our scheduled stay.

Hi Eric I never got an email from you. I went over to house to check if everything was ok but no one was there hence why I emailed you. We are busy on the farm so may have not been home when you came over. It does say in information no cell phone service out here but we do have wifi at the cottage. I’m sorry you had a medical emergency. I hope everyone is ok?

Yes, our second time to unwind, recharge, and just chill after working through Auckland lockdown being a Essential Worker! Having a busy hectic lifestyle, only makes sense to take a break and connect with nature. Read a book with no interruptions, spending that quality time with the kids. In comparison with Auckland city lifestyle, this place gives us the recharge we needed and just chill. The cottage is well accomodating, exactly what it advertises! the best home away from home
we had the best time staying here, it had everything we needed, it was perfect. super comfy, with a relaxed vibe, if you are looking for somewhere to take a break from reality, this is it, we had our 2 year old with us and she loved it as well, plenty of space for her to run wild. we will be back for sure
